I did not have any expectation as to timing as I knew I could not get to Europe until July/Aug. I could have gotten one of the very last 2015s but paid both the base price increase for 2016 and option amount just to get Cararra White Metallic. I know - kind of stupid. Here is the timing of my order:
04/10 Build submitted to Porsche
05/22 Order fixed at factory
06/05 Order completed

Picked-up ED package from dealer this past weekend - unsurprisingly, very professional. Materials included the window sticker.

I think our deposit was $3K but believe deposits are dealership specific. I have a good relationship with my dealer due to past purchases and thought the amount fair.

So did the wife slide into that picture or did the Macan? I just can't believe you were trying to take a picture with both in it..

I've put $1500 or $2000 down on the last two Porsches I ordered. Each was my first purchase from that dealership, and both were refundable if I wanted to back out. You may be in a different position if you want to order some odd combination of colors and options, though. But I don't think that's really possible on a hot model like the Macan with its current options pallet.

Congrats. My wife now wants a Porsche. We plan on getting her a Macan and doing the ED next year.

Perhaps there are better?

Day of pick-up at the factory, both bound for the U.S. Our Macan is Carrera White Metallic (very slight blue/gray tint) vs. std. white for the RS.

Note 962 mounted to the celling. Museum is filled with the coolest of Porsches.

Lake Lucerne.

Yup: time for driving some passes.

Around Lake Como, the Macan suddenly is quite large.

Great roads in Austria and some rain to test the AWD.

And back to Stuttgart to shipment.

Make sure you check-out in person the CF or Walnut steering wheels as they feel hard and cold in comparison to the leather. The Macan S I am picking up has the full leather and walnut package, including the steering wheel, and I MAY swap it out.

I remember seeing a 993 C4S with CF package and the CF steering wheel had damage to it from the owner(s) ring hit it.

Just sayin'...
