I have the order accepted, and some codes. Can I use a web site to track the progress? Is there a PCNA number to call? When I ordered my M3 I actually have pictures of the ship that carried it going through the Panama Canal. :-)
Nope, Porsche doesn't provide that kind of interface into their manufacturing and delivery process. You're going to have to bug your SA every two weeks or so for a tracking sheet. That will show the planned and actual build dates for your order. After it's on a boat, you'll get the vessel name and then you can track the ship with a site like vesselfinder.com.
There is an iOS app called Porsche Delivery. I think it is intended for this purpose; the app did not come out until after I had already received my Macan. When you open the app, it asks for a deliver code, which I presume would be something your dealer would provide.

Cool, thanks. I'll get the code from my SA and check it out.
Edit: It's actually called "Porsche Vehicle Delivery" and it's from PCNA and only for the Macan and Cayenne (at this time). You need the VIN or the delivery code. As I can't get either tonight I'll check it out tomorrow (I've downloaded the app though).
Porsche (PCNA ?) is having a systems problem right now and can't generate/retrieve the Delivery Code. PCNA has a trouble ticket open on it. Hopefully it will get resolved before my actually delivery.....

That is just ridiculous. Tell them the transaction code is VL03 - Order Look-up in any SAP system. ;-)
Apparently there were 3 VIN's my dealer couldn't get Delivery Codes for from Porsche's system, mine was one of them. It's now resolved and I have my DC.
He also gave me the boat info (mine's on the Eternal Ace), expected to be in Brunswick, GA late Wed. so I should have my Macan late next week (if all goes well)!! (MarineTraffic.com) Vessel is fairly new (2010)
BTW, The app provides nothing related to where/when the vehicle is or will be, it's purpose is to assist you with getting familiar with the vehicle's features, things like how the PCM system works, how to open the hood etc. It is a handy app to have and I believe it also can access a PDF copy of the Owner's Manual, I haven't tried that yet but have made my way through most of the rest of the "tutorials". I can see where this would be a valuable tool for owners and take some of the load off the Sales Advisor in educating the new owner.
The lack of customer ability to track is lame IMHO. I told my SA and the European Delivery specialist as well. I'm two weeks downstream from turning it back in at the factory, I'm hoping it will get here before Christmas.
It got me through the Green Hell safely.
I loved Germany so much I am thinking of retiring there. Stuttgart (factory, museum, the awesome old building where a 911sc and my current 993 were handbuilt), 918s running around the grounds totally silent was eery. Mercedes Museum, Stuttgart football game, DTM finale at Hockenheim, Nurburgring, two heart-attack inducing laps with a pro in a Nissan GTR race car, one lap in the Macan, Burg Eltz castle, Cologne cathedral, Maastricht, Netherlands, Liege Belgium, Spa Francorchamps (closed that day but I saw 911s going through Eau Rouge), Champions league game, Bayer Leverkusen (my 60th birthday and I have the game scarf to prove it!) vs Zenit St. Petersburg, day trip to Amsterdam, day trip to Brussels, sad drive back to Stuttgart. I did NOT want to leave.
