Default folding mirrors

it seems that, even with PCM and 14 way memory seats, you cannot set the folding mirrors to fold when you lock the car.

you have to either press the interior button to fold, or press the lock button and hold after locking.

on my base 981S Boxster, with no PCM and no memory seats, you could set the folding mirrors to fold on locking, and unfold on unlocking.

any one managed any different on their Macan?

No, your assumption is correct. Cannot automatically fold the mirrors upon locking, must press the interior button or hold the lock button, similar to the 958.

Why do you want to fold them every time?

That's the last thing I want to do in a parking lot. The mirrors sticking out offer and extra 4 inch barrier to let the driver parking next to me know that he needs to be careful and not ding HIS car by hitting my mirror with his door. Otherwise, it my be MY car getting dinged.

I wish when my wife drives the side mirrors fold because she never uses them anyway- plus the fact she has problems turning rt too close with some damn pole and nails the passenger side mirror. Had to change whole assembly twice!!! Mike

I don't, I was merely answering sfo's question.

Interesting. The Touareg has a menu option in settings to do this task. I don't use it but will manually fold them with the side switch for car washes and other instances.

According to the manual, the Macan is supposed to have this feature as well. However, owners are reporting that the menu option isn't actually there in their cars. Wouldn't be the first time that printed documentation doesn't match delivered features.

Makes no sense why it was left out. That feature can't be removed due to a bean counter. Haha. That happens a lot with the Touareg in the US.

UK user manuals do not list this option.

The version of the US manual I've seen says there should be an option on the MFD labeled "Mirror retract" under Vehicle->Settings->Locking for this feature, but it's missing on delivered cars. But right above it, the section on automatic relocking mentions something called a "boot" so the manual is obviously riddled with errors.
