Does any light come through the painted markers when the lights are on? Or has the paint completely blacked out all light?

It's very subdued, here is a photo at night in a parking lot.

Looks great!
Hopefully you'll remove that ugly tire/speed sticker near the ignition switch.

How hard is it to remove the marker?

The 991 is easy, just pry it out with a non-scratching upholstery tool.

The Cayenne is much harder. You have to remove the fender/wheel well liner to get at it from behind and remove a screw. A real pain.

Macan looks like the Cayenne's?

There is a small hole in the wheel well where you can insert a skinny flat head screwdriver in at an angle (you'll need to turn the wheel hard left/right depending on the side you're working on). You basically push the side marker out from behind. The manual actually does a decent job explaining how to do so as well, it took all of 15 mins for both sides.
