Macan S vs 911

Best description is a sportier Q5 that it's actually built on. The Panamera weighs the same or more, but is still a bit lighter on its feet. I like the ride of our AS macan more than the Panamera 4 on steel though. Both have pasm. The macan has enormous grip that is constantly fighting the physics of high weight distribution. Summer tires help make this possible. Lateral g's in the macan are quite high. The display shows .9 at times.

Still haven't found a 911 yet. I am now thinking from the price stand point.
I can build a brand new Macan S with just the 21" wheels, PASM, and suspension pkg for ~$56k. A 2009 (5-yr old) well equipped 911 C2S or C4S is almost $60k.
What will be their values after 3 years?

The Macan will depreciate more because it is a new car. And don't forget, it won't feel nearly the same as the 911. Depends what is important to you: space, utility, and sporty feeling, or raw excitement.

Can't figure out why people are trying to compare 911's to Macans. Makes no sense. I love my wife's new Macan, but it is nothing like the various 911's I have owned over the years. Same brand, drastically different cars.

I am even more confused. Planning to sell my Ferrari to get a Macan S. Was going to get a 2015 911S or 911T but the depreciation scars me. Macan S doesn't ride like a sports car but it has all the options with a price tag of 65K. It doesn't ride that bad either comparing to a 911S. I used to own a 991 as well.

Am fortunate to have a macan turbo and 991 50th. The Macan is a really good all round car, beautiful balance, damping, and quiet compared to a 991. Drive them back to back and you'll really feel the higher ride in the macan and the extra weight, it is no sportscar compared to a 991, and the 991 is quite a lot more civilised than the 997 that i owned for 7 years too. Macan vs 997, very different cars, and i agree macan ok value for money and the options somewhat cheaper than a 911.

I just went through a similar decision process, although I was looking for a daily driver to replace my 2002 C4S. We have an Audi SQ5 (distant cousin of the Macan) in the garage already, so I didn't really need another small SUV. The appeal of the Macan to me was that I could get into a brand new AWD Porsche for a daily driver. I realized that they were very different cars, but the appeal of a new Porsche with a full warranty is strong.
Ultimately, I decided that I couldn't give up a proper sports car. I ended up buying a CPO 997 turbo cabriolet.

Thanks. I really find the AWD 911 to be an all-weather car when fitted with proper tires. The only time I didn't drive the C4S was when we had more than 6-inches of fresh snow on the ground. Once the plows come out and clear the roads a little bit, the car did very well. I'll do the same thing in the turbo.

I live in a place that doesn't have a lot of roads to go high speed. Lots of patrols. I don't track so having a real sport car only help me to put into a mindset of driving a sport car. I drove my 991 5000 miles in 1.5 yrs and the Ferrari 1500 miles in 6 months. Still debating between a 991 4S vs. Macan S. Comments are appreciated.

I feel that you can get 4WD PASM PSE PTV PDK sport chorno all these fun toys into one for less than $65K while I will need to pay almost double for a C4S which gives me a bit quicker straight line acceleration, a bit better handling and a sporty cooler look. On The other hand, i can use the Macan S when over 6" of snow.
