Wife's new Macan S arrived May 30...was expected June 27! I had arranged with my dealer for them to only do the mechanical parts of the PDI. I packed up all my gear and supplies (including deionized water) and went to the dealership to detail the car myself. It took me about 5 hours to get the car ready for my wife to come to the dealership, pick it up and drive it home.
Basically, I washed the car, cleaned the interior glass, peeled protective wrap, installed floor mats, waxed all door jambs and other hidden paint surfaces, clayed the paint, polished out a couple very fine clear coat scratches (I assume these happened when exterior panel plastic was removed,) waxed and buffed, cleaned the wheels, and cleaned exterior glass.
I must say the finish on the car was excellent...although it is surprising how much grit and grime the cars accumulate in transit. When I was finished, the shine was awesome, and the car was incredibly smooth to the touch. For someone like me who tries to keep cars looking their best, it's nice to know no one else has touched the paint.
i took a series of pictures along the way...

Very nice. And nice watch! Almost picked one up this weekend, but prefer the black face.

Very nicely detailed car! I just placed an order for an Agate Grey S with Agate Grey partial leather 14-way seats, infotainment, and premium. Trying to decide on wheels and PASM. Are those the 20" RS spyder wheels? Did you go with PASM or air suspension?
This is my first Porche in over 40 years!

Congrats on a great ride and thanks so much for the awesome pics! That is my exterior color combo/rails/wheels etc. These are fist close up pics I have seen and they put to rest any doubts I had about the combo. I went with black interior and 18 ways.
Is that interior Agate? or Black Hard to tell from the pics. the black I sat in at the dealer is not really black.

The paint on the wheels is very close to the Agate Gray, and should serve to hide brake dust as well.

In that lighting, the interior did show more brown than the exterior paint, but as you may know with Agate Gray the paint shows differently in different light...sometimes a cooler gray, other times warmer with almost a hint of brown. I understand there is a bit of gold coloring in the paint that causes the brownish tint in certain light.
