The center section of the seats appears to fold independently of the two seats. So one could, in theory, fold down the center section and allow the clubs to come out in between your two buddies in the back seats.

I doubt 2 will fit w/o folding the seats.

Now I'm really pissed that the 958 seats don't fold flat if they could do it again with the Macan!!!

That looks about what I expected, the rear area will be almost useless with the seats up. Looks like groceries and the like is all the "utility" this thing will be good for

Hope it lives up to the Sport part (I expect it will in spades based on what the 958 can do in that regard).

On the 955/957 they did. The 958 has a slope that seems to be the rage in SUVs these days.

for those looking at the Macan, you need to ask yourself why do you want it over the VW tiguan or the Audi Q5?

The same reason you'd want a Cayenne over the Q7/TReg. The same reason you want any Porsche over its competition (no matter how closely related).

There is something that connects all the P-Cars that you can't get anywhere else. By all the early accounts the Macan fits the bill quite nicely.

The reality for me, however, is that Porsche priced it out of my interest. Then again, I did say the same thing about the P!g 10 years ago...

I need to ask myself? Or do you?

As the other poster mentioned, same reason you'd chose it over a Q5 (note, the Tiguan is a far different vehicle based on the golf with a transverse FWD power train and should not be compared). A relatively loaded SQ5 offers about the same HP and torque, and for not much more money. Similarly equipped, its about $5k more. With air suspension and PTV, its $10k. Those are options not available at any price on the SQ5.

The rears on a 958 do not fold flat. However the slope depends on seats you have. I have the 18ways w/ more bolstering and they dont fold as much as the 14ways.

I specifically took in my clubs for a test fit before i bought the SUV. Its a tight fit but it works.

Do the Macans rears SLIDE like the Cayenne?

If they use the same mechanism as the Q5, then yes they slide a bit.

Why mention the Tiguan? It's not relevant to the discussion. Different platform. Besides you would want a macan based on driving dynamics. Not price.

Did not know that. Do you or anyone here have pics of the 958 with rear seats folded down? What's the reasoning for the sloping aspect? Thanks. Mike

Spoke to a dealer yday, he said a golf bag should fit, but the driver will likely be too long without folding part of the seat down. Will def have to see and drive this thing before placing an order.

"should" and "likely" ??? oh boy.
On the Cayenne clubs will not fit side to side.
they will fit front to back provided the seats are slid forward.
they will fit diagonally.

I put my golf bag in rear and my 3 golf buddies bags tied to the tow hitch and dragged all the way to the golf coarse : ). I don't like to lose!!! I usually put my golf bag in the rear passenger seat and my friend's as well because it's just two of us. Mike

Make of this what you will... Maybe better if you aren't using a staff bag.
