Default What drive mode do you use most?

So I've had my new to me '23 S for a month. I put about 600 miles or so on the car. Still getting used to the power delivery vs what I had with my previous A8 daily driver. I find in normal mode that I need to really step into it to get things going. Sometimes it's Ok and sometimes it feels a bit sleepy. I have my individual set in Sport for throttle and PDK but normal suspension damping and lowered ride height. Works well and more responsive but a low speed seems jumpy. What do you all use for daily driving? I find that I'm switching between individual and normal all the time. I thought it would be a set it and forget it for normal commute usage etc.

How long is a piece of string? The mode I use depends on the conditions and situation at the time. The point is there are options you can chose at will, why would you look to only try and limit yourself to use just one of them?

I get that. I'm just curious if people are constantly changing it, say during a short urban commute - as is my daily use case - or just hanging out in a certain mode depending on what they are doing. Around town driving for me rarely gets above 45mph based on traffic, roads, etc. My work commute is rarely above 30mph on a 4 mile ride - I know, boring! I find normal not enough and individual or sport maybe too much in these situations. If I'm out on a highway or on more rural roads, then absolutely I can see the benefits of sport mode. Not sure sport plus is an area where I'm going to live very often in this car to be honest. Again, I'm still in learning mode here and wanted to get some feedback on other experiences. Thanks.

The throttle laziness is well documented, but a throttle controller can cure that symptom. In my case I stay in normal mode 99% of the time but, I have a pedal commander and a GIAC tune. If I need a quick burst, I use the sport response button to escape the traffic madness. If I'm feeling the spirit, I might dial in sport+ but it's very rare. For the days I need a major fix I just jump in the GT4 and call it a day.....Phil

There is a lip between my driveway and the shallow gutter. Goes more softly in Sport, which is what I use all the drive. Same for potholes and drain covers on the road.
Wish is could default to Sport when I start the motor, but no.

Usually I use Normal on the highway and Individual with sport throttle and PSE open around town. Other than a harder downshift to 1st, I don't have the jumpiness at low speeds. Conversely, Normal mode in a parking lot feels like it is frequently engaging and disengaging the clutch to maintain smoothness, but I prefer to just be in first with a light foot.

I don't really use Sport+ at all, except for the button on occasion to pass.

I have plug-in tuner boxes on both my Base and my S.

That greatly enhances throttle response even in normal mode. But I always run my Base with sport button on and my S in individual mode with sport + on.

I find it really responsive but i spent 30 years driving a 928 and a lot of my time is on John Deere products.

Sport is good when you know there's a tight overtake due.

Typically, it's normal mode until the oil temps reach 180-190, then Sport.

Those tuner boxes you have are very potent!

I live in a bad traffic all day so run in Normal most of the time.

In my '22 GTS I use Sport 100% of the time. Sport+ is a bit too aggressive. Sometimes I will use manual shifting in Sport mode to reduce throttle lag a bit and to reduce rev matching when approaching and stopping at residential intersections. Rev matching is nice for corner entrances but unnecessary when stopping at lights. In manual mode the car downshifts without rev matching if you are slowing down enough or stopping. Manual mode/Sport is also a bit quicker off the line than Auto/Sport. I do not have a throttle box in my car, its 100% stock.

23 Base with a Roar Pedal. I use Sport mode 100%. The Roar Pedal eliminates the throttle delay but does nothing for shift RPM unless you're deep into the throttle. Sport mode holds gears better and doesn't rush to get to 7th. The combo of both have my pretty happy with the 4 cylinder as a DD.

I drive ALL Porsches in sport mode all the time. In normal mode the throttle is lethargic IMO. Plus like many have mentioned, it wants to shift to 7th right away. Additional benefits of always using sport mode is A/S/S is automatically disabled, plus coolant (and oil) temps are significantly cooler in sport vs normal mode. The coolant temp is always showing 194F, but in sport mode is about 185F, and in normal mode about 223F. But since oil temperature is real, you can see the huge jump there between normal and sport modes. But you need a scanner like the X-431 to do that. Finally, I actually use 'individual' driving mode, with sport mode, low suspension, and comfort PASM.

'23 S. I use Individual 90% of the time. I have it set to engine/PDK in Sport, PASM in Sport Plus with the ride height set to low. I think engine/PDK in Sport Plus is just a little to aggressive for normal driving.

Plus in Sport mode your battery charge voltage is higher (14.5-14.7V) than normal mode. Not an issue for long trips but better for short ones where the car is restarted a number of times with less charging time between starts.
