Ravenol VSE 0W-20

Porsche Macan Motor Oil Change Kit - 2019-2023 - 2.0T - 0w20 C20

A 2021 Base 2.0 Macan requires an oil that meets the VW508 specification, 0W-20.
5.5 quarts

Mobil-1 also makes a 0W-20 oil that meets the 508 spec.

Look for the compliance to 508 printed on the bottle.

The owner's manual is a better reference than an AI search engine result.

I would go one step thicker once past any free dealer servicing. If you are really worried, once out of warranty. All the car makers are specifying ultra thin oil for maximizing fuel economy, but that thin oil may not be best for engine longevity. If I had to run very thin oil, I would at least change it at half the factory interval.

On my 2.9L that specifies 0W30 C30, I started doing in between changes after the 10k service. Once out of warranty, I changed to 0W40. Use the right spec — C20, C30 or C40 depending on weight.

I use Liqui Moly 0-20 for my 2020 base; FCP Euro sells a kit for about $85. I will use a thicker oil once my CPO warranty runs out.

Although Porsche recommends Mobil 1 0W-20 (ESP X2 C20 compliant) for my 2024 Macan Base, I recently decided to switch to a slightly thicker oil and went with Mobil 1 5W-30 (ESP C30 compliant) based on the feedback from several Macan owners in 2 other Forums.

5W-30 is the way to go.

I will stick to 0W-20 for my 2019 Base 2.0, even after the CPO has expired.

those who trust in owner manuals should do what owner manual says.

5w-30 is all fine as long as you do not live in Alaska.

So Porsche is wrong recommending 5w-30 oil in EU countries, Scandinavia included, and not 0w-20?
