2026 is the last year of the gas powered Macan according to Porsche…

Just wait, the Macan will continue as a pure ICE and Hybrid.

I think that ending the ICE Macans is a huge mistake...but,,, I guess that Porsche management thinks they will force EV on us...
Well screw that, we are ordering a 2025 S and will keep it for a long time,,,
This will be our 3rd, and so far the first 2 have been the best vehicles we have owned...

I have the same feelings dak911. Had 2015 and 2019 Macan S’s and love them both.

A Macan hybrid that goes about 50 miles on battery would be the best of both worlds.

+1. My name would already be on the order books if they had done that.

Idiots.

I think this is absolutely correct.

Manufacturing automobiles is capitalism for profit.

Where the money is, is where Porsche will go.

I don't know why in the world you would infer this.

Compared to other Porsche models they weren't/aren't. Very low profit margin on those.

I also highly doubt the ICE version of the 718 will be gone forever. They will be back, just like the ICE Macan.

I don't see how they can bring the ICE versions of these cars back later as a fallback measure, the way so many people think. These decisions have to be made long in advance -- a big chunk of a decade -- because the factory tooling and supply chains are so radically different for a BEV that is being built on an all-new platform.

This is a one-way ride, folks.

No it isn't.

With today's versatile platforms a new model can be developed in less than 2 years. The current Macan is built on the old Audi Q5 platform. The new Q5 hasn't gone "all-electric" so if Porsche wants they can develop/build a new ICE Macan off that.

Agreed, that's a good point, at least vis-a-vis the Macan.. I wonder what their plans for the Q5 are.

Audi also claims they are going "all electric" in the next few years but since Audi's EV sales are tanking world wide those plans, just like Porsche's plans, will drastically change once their respective CEOs realize their companies will go bankrupt soon after they go "all electric."

The ICE Macan will continue, as will the ICE Q5, and Porsche will introduce special ICE models of the 718 in the future. Remaining profitable will force them to do so.
