Default 24 Macan GTS - power from console cig lighter port

24 Macan GTS. I have a 9 volt com wireless phone charger which sits in the slot marked in red below and uses the cigarette charger port which is located below the rubber insert, in the tray at the rear of the console (marked in red in image below).

Dealer used the cig charger port which sits under the console tray rubber mat to the power radar detector., now I have nowhere to plug the 9volt com phone charger into.

I need to remove the tray marked with the red block to get to the wiring underneath, I plan to use a dual USB C adaptor to power both the radar detector and the 9volt com phone charger.

Question - Does anybody know the steps for removing that tray marked with the red block please?

Can't you just use a dual USB charger which plugs into the 12v receptacle? That's what I did. You can get high power units with both USB C and A, dual C or dual A.

I would ...but the dealer (who is 5 hours drive from where I live) completely removed the cig lighter receptacle and attached wiring (there's just a round hole where it was) and shoved the cig lighter wiring way under the console out of sight, up past the park brake switch - which is why I have to remove the cig lighter tray to get at the wiring. After I get at the wiring, I plan to do what you suggest.

Thanks for your reply.

Sorry, I missed that nugget in your original post. Maybe go on to Porsche parts websites and look for parts schematics of the console. May be a help in identifying how to get to the wires and the OEM replacement receptacle.
Good luck!

I hadn't thought of looking for a parts schematic. Good idea - thanks !

Ah - thank you !

Thinking about that - do you mean pulling out the rubber mat in the tray base - or the whole tray?.

I already have the rubber mat out, but want to remove the complete tray from the console to get at the wiring underneath as outlined in my 1st post.

Thanks
