We were driving on the freeway last Sunday and the TMPS warning light went on, pulled over to reset the tire size etc. but could not get it to function correctly, I checked the tires and found that they all had the correct air pressure, my wife took the car into the dealership today and the mechanic said that the TPMS main unit mounted under the car had been hit by something and was damaged and needed to be replaced, I have not crawled under the car yet to see where it was mounted but I am wondering if anyone else has had the TPMS main unit damaged? It seems a little unclear to me why some thing like this would be installed where it could be so easily damaged. Has anyone else experienced the TPMS unit being damaged?
