I still maintain that Size 1 is too small and will be terrible looking on any Macan that is not completely dropped on coilovers or air. If something smaller than a 28.7" diameter, I would go with 305/35/20 and 265/40/20 to at least be in the 28" range.

Is this the arrangement you have on your Macan?
No bulging, rubbing, bottoming out, etc.?

Do you have a photo or two showing them on your vehicle?

I don't have the 315 35 20 and 275 40 20 on my Macan yet, but will soon.
I don't think 10mm to 20mm of extra tire width (5 mm to 10mm per side) will make any difference to "bulging", "bottoming out"....
I picked this alt size because I can buy Conti DWS06+ tires, which is a much better treadwear versus handling versus price trade-off than what is available in the stock sizes.

They’re wonderful tires, I’m on my second set – on two of our cars now; just not on the Macan… Yet.

Waiting for these Pirelli Scorpion Verde tires to kick the bucket, then it’ll be the DWS06+ for the Macan too. Just wasn’t sure on the alternate size, and whether they may rub.

I know Santirx has them on his Macan and loves them; just not sure which size he has.

I'm curious to see what they look like. They won't bulge more than the OE tires since the sidewall is shorter and the OE ones bulge quite a bit.

I had 275/40/20 up front for a second and liked how they felt but their smaller diameter looked too small for me, even on a lowered car. I would need another inch of lowering to get the proportion right for my taste. Mr. Wolfe is running that diameter tire (28.7") on his custom 21" wheel setup, it looks great but he is on lowering links on the lowest setting. My 1.25" Eibach drop was not enough to close the gap.

It all depends on personal preference though, this was an OE size on the 1st gen Cayenne and that was a different look for an SUV at the time, and still is although BMW has placed lower profile 28.7" tires on their X6 recently.

You should notice some benefit from the increase of the effective final drive.

How's the noise level with the DWS06+ on the Macan (staggered)? I had them on a BMW X5 (staggered) and they were great, but then I put them on my previous vehicle (Audi SQ5 -- 255mm width), and hated them. They had so much tread noise and lousy feel. So I think they must be a tire that just needs a wider width to really shine? I replaced (on the SQ5) them with Michelin PS4 A/S, which were great, but only lasted 20k miles. On my Macan, I'm currently running Pirelli Scorpion Verde A/S simply because that's what came on the vehicle. I plan to move on to Pirelli Scorpion Zero when the time comes, as I had those on a previous vehicle and really liked them a lot. The Pirellis are just so dang quiet compared to Michelins or Contis.

I have DWS06 Plus on my SQ5, square setup, 265/40-21.
I have probably driven 10,000 miles on these tires. No noticeable tire noise. Great tire.
