I tend not to, and when I do it's with the yellow glasses on.

I too dislike DRL's. I once asked a BMW dealer if they could be turned off. Their response was yes. They just needed to be coded. I said, great, let's do it. They responded no due to potential liability (btw, they're not required by law) - only in America!!

Actually, I kind of like the four LED cluster DRL's on the newer Porsches. It's sort of a signature thing unique to Porsches.

As a road cyclist I'm very familiar with tech that helps you to be seen by other people on the road (especially cars). The absolute best option is a bicycle headlight/tail light system. I realize that it's a bit different trying not to get hit by a motorist than it is being the motorist, but it's the same principle. It's a safety feature, and whether you are a cyclist or motorist it makes you more visible to others on the road.

We still haven't determined which DRL the OP is referring to. Perhaps a photo may help? The initial post states the vehicle is a 2013 which does not exist according to my knowledge.

My 2021 has both the quad DRL setup integrated into the headlights as well as a lower DRL / turn signal when the vehicle is set to "parking light" mode and the quad headlight DRLs are deactivated.

If I seem overtly sensitive or touchy about these lights, well, it's because I am. So if I can turn them off and avoid triggering others in this 21st century sensory hellscape, then I will!
For the folk with helpful answers about coding them out, thank you.
You would hate my motorcycle. I have seven daytime running lights on it to prevent the idiots in cars from pulling out in front of me, or turning left in front of me. Two are yellow lenses on dimmable Clearwaters. They do work and work well, even the most clueless person on their cell phone sees the UFO coming at them. Better for the car driver to have a slight annoyance at them vs me being in a wheelchair.

To answer your question though, you can code-out the DRL's through the Porsche PWIS computer or a tool like the Autel 908BT. As those ae both pricey, best to pay a tech to do it for you.

The idiots pulling out are probably blinded by your setup.

Put a lot of miles on my BMW and never thought it needed more lights...
