Ever since last year, many of you have raised concerns regarding the inability of the diamond button on all Macans (post -2022 models with the newer steering wheel), to skip tracks in CarPlay or Android Auto, despite having the track skip assigned to it. This issue has been particularly frustrating when navigating while listening to music.




Not only does skipping a song in CarPlay or Android Auto require you to exit navigation view and enter your music app, it also requires you to skip the track on screen before returning to navigation. Such operations are not just impractical but also unsafe while driving.

We all agree that the functionality of steering wheel buttons should allow for such simple tasks. So, we decided to explore a solution to this issue for all pre-2022 Macans.

Our team developed a module that replicates the same feature as the 2022 model's button. But what about if the diamond button is already assigned to another feature, such as camera view in most cases? Would you have to reassign the button each time?

Anticipating this question, we came up with a unique solution: the long press of the return button activates the next track feature on the diamond button and can be deactivated anytime with another long press.




This means that if you wish to use the track skip feature, all you have to do is a long press of the return button on the steering wheel. When you want to revert back to the feature previously assigned to the diamond button (like the camera view), you simply perform the long press of the return button again. This way, you can switch back and forth between the functions without delving into settings.

So, we believe we've really solved this problem, offering a safer, more convenient driving experience for all Macan owners with models predating 2022.

This is working well for me with my 2021 Macan. Install was about 10 minutes. I use the arrow return button to alternate between track skipping and the parking camera. Just need to plan ahead a little.

Good morning, I, too, have Ray's software installed on my 2020 base. For me, it was to enable Android Auto, and yes, it does work brilliantly and I highly recommend it. I am considering purchasing the steering wheel module, and I understand that it enables using the diamond button to move up (or down depending on the diamond button programming) to the next channel in the AA or Carplay apps, such as Amazon music. However, all I want it to do is skip up to my next favorite station that I have set in SiriusXM. Do you know if it will do that?
