Electric Macan coming

The Perfect Pair...
My hold back is charging.
For my sports car, ICE all the way. So perhaps with the charging figured out, an eMacan and a 987,2 Spyder could be the perfect pair.

Myself? After driving a Taycan 4S for 72 hours up in the local hills, I'm on the fence. The car was phenomenal in terms of power and handling and I suspect the eMacan will be the same. Heavy like the Taycan (4771 lbs), less body roll with the batteries on the floor, and instant "liquid" power. I had fun.

It should've been a hybrid. If they had built the next-gen Macan as a hybrid, my name would already be near the top of the waiting list.

Trouble is, one of the Macan's key strengths is as a road car. 1000 miles in one day is a milk run in a Macan, but that's completely off the table with an EV.

My thinking is that whatever tech goes into the Cayenne and Panamera E-Hybrid models would be appropriate for the Macan, but I have no experience there.
The ideal Macan is one that can go to the grocery store a few miles away without firing up its IC engine at all, and then do a fast 1000-mile run up the coast the next day. Only hybrids can do that.

Smaller highly efficient ICE plus battery and motor to supplement ICE power. Both drive the wheels and the smaller battery is charged from regenerative braking or the ICE. Yes, a smaller lighter and importantly less polluting to make battery. So as sustainable fuel rolls in don't fret about chargers being everywhere, I'd take a hybrid Macan.

Aside from rolling blackouts, no infrastructure, Lithium batteries that explode, or are worse for the economy than ICE engines, initial expense vs. gas powered cars, etc... yeah, electric cars are a GREAT idea.

The Audi A-Tron 55 is about size of our Macans. It weighs 5,765 lbs. My GTS weighs 4,524. That's 1,200 more pounds I have to push through the snow uphill and around a corner to get out of my house. No thanks.

Different take here.
I picked up a 2023 Macan T as daily driver, trading in my Tesla Model 3. The Macan T is a great daily driver.
I'll trade in the Macan T when the Macan EV becomes available in its 2nd year unless it's a total dud (which I think won't be the case).
For daily driver use, it's hard to beat an EV.
For my fun car, I'll stick with ICE and my 992 GTS.

If priced right (~80k) and has enough useable range (i.e., > 300 miles) and NACS compatible, it will sell like hotcakes.
And me, I love hotcakes!
Bring it on.

I have a new 911 GTS on order, should see that in 9-12 months. It would not be ideal to buy 2 new cars next year but I will do it if the EV Macan comes.
