Windshield Wiper Issues
My wipers create a lot of drag when operating which creates a lot of noise and leaves heavy streaks on the windshield. This occurs in both the rain sensing mode as well as full operation even with a decent amount of water on the windshield. I had the car ceramic coated which I believe included the glass. Anyone else have this annoying issue?
I've had my car over a year now and the wipers work like they did on day one. Usually I change wipers out after a year but I'll hold off for now. I had the car ceramic coated a month after I got it and I think the glass was also done, but no change in the operation of the wipers before or after.
My Macan is 10 months old with 5k miles. It has been driven in the rain whenever it rains but not too much. The rubber on the blades is firm. When the wipers are in action, they seem to drag across the windshield with a loud/wobbly action leaving substantial streaks. The streaks come off with a car wash. I have wiped the rubber blades down. It's just an annoying nit and the streaks on the passenger side seem to irritate my wife.

I also have this problem on my 2021 GTS. I too had ceramic put on my car and they did the windshield as well. The wipers skip something awful. I had this done right when I bought the car so I can’t compare to no ceramic.
Took the car into Porsche and the changed the wipers once. When that didn’t help I took it back. The inspected and said it looked like someone had applied ceramic to the windshield and that was causing it. They won’t do anything for me.
It was finally wearing off but I just took the car back in for a ceramic boost. Despite me request not to they did the windshield again ☹️.
Bringing it in next week to see if the detail shop can polish it off.
My wiper blades came with the car back in January 2018. I did do the Rain X treatment soon after. I have never had to change them, as they work great. They get exercise as I live in the Seattle area. I do choose to mostly use the intermittent setting, which may be a factor.

My glass is periodically treated w/ Rain-X Original Glass Water Repellent.
That product sheds water when raining, plus of greater importance to me, it makes washing and drying the car sooo much faster than a vehicle w/ untreated glass.

No issues on my ‘23 Macan S. I’ve ceramic coated the car but not the windshield. I did the rear window though and no issues with that wiper either.
I don’t think the ceramic is the problem as the surface should be slicker which should make the wipers work better, unless they trapped something under the ceramic and the glass surface isn’t smooth.
IME, skipping blades are a wiper blade problem.

It sounds like a coating issue, given the streaks which are common when a coating goes awry.
I would pick up some glass polish:

or

Then some glass polishing pads:

And use them on a nice rotary polisher to strip off the coating. Spray water intermittently to prevent overheating.
I recently started using this glass cleaner/coating weekly with good results, after a wipe down of the glass with a glass cleaner. Its not too strong of a coating so It hasn't caused any of those typical coating issues and easy enough to apply often (spray on and wipe off with a good microfiber towel).

Hopefully polishing it off will solve the problem.
