2023 Macan S. Homelink works fine in position 1, but in 2 and 3, such a weak signal, it will open the gate sometimes if 3 feet away from the gate antenna. I have no issues with the Homelink in my Q5 or 2018 991. Does anyone else have issues?
Agree its weak on 9Y0. My MB could open the garage door from the end of the block.
What gets me is that I have a visor clicker garage door opener that is about 1" x 2" in size and runs on a 2032 battery. It will open my garage door from several hundred feet down the street. But my 2018 Macan GTS powered by over 12v of essentially unlimited current won't open the door until I'm directly in front of my house. Since Homelink is a 3rd party manufactured module purchased by Porsche, I'm drawn to the conclusion that the transmit antenna is poorly located within the car.

Yep!! My wife's Toyota works just find, programmed the first time, 100% reliable.
It is definitely weak in the Macan for some reason.
Better in the 991 and 718.
The receiver of the opener also makes a difference. The homelink in my Macan was so bad at one point it only barely works when the car has to be almost touching the garage door. Once I changed to a new garage door opener, it worked much better. Still not as good as other manufacturers though.

Yup, definitely weaker than it should be...the Homelink in my Cayman GTS 4.0 works from like 3x further away compared to my '21 Macan GTS.
Hey, at least it's not a GPS-activated Homelink like in my wife's SQ5, with no physical buttons. That one really drives me nuts. (and not in a good way)
I have given up on the Homelink in my 23 Spyder. After clearing and resetting it will work from about 10 feet away from the garage door. But then it fails to work again unless Im inside the garage directly under the garage door opener motor. It never worked in my 20 Macan GTS.
Does PPF have anything to do with it? Where is the sensor located? Is it in the Homelink box attached to the windshield area or somewhere in the bumper?
Mine was very weak in my 2018 Macan GTS. Had to be within 6' of the receiver on the entrance gate to trigger it and had to be 20' from the garage door. I finally gave up and bought one of these:
on Amazon for $19.95. It was a cinch to program the buttons. It will open the garage door from 100' down the road. Was also able to program it to open the entrance gate where it also works great! Bought this clip
My 2023 Macan has a weak signal but it works, I can open the garages hundreds of feet away with my 2023 BMW. That said the Porshe drives better and has more comfortable seats (18-way). Pick your issues I guess.
