Mr12Volt - The solution for Carplay and Android Auto integration
Hello friends, Roman from ACSByRoman.com here. I'm updating our old Mr12Volt threads as there is a lot of new info since we first came onboard with Rennlist. The current thread will reference strictly Mr12Volt P3000 systems. We are doing this to avoid any confusion regarding older systems.
Now that that's behind us lets to the meat of it! I'm here to bring an open discussion and help with any install questions regarding Mr12Volt Carplay and Android Auto systems. This Carplay and Android Auto solution that has been spoken about regularly on these forums, Facebook, and was even included in the Rennlist holiday gift guide!!!
Firstly, the Mr12Volt system is first and only one of its kind in the marketplace. Unlike all others the feed audio through the aux channel, degrading the audio, the Mr12Volt system is ran through the factory MOST25 bus, the fiber optic audio channel that's standard in our cars. Through the MOST25 bus Mr12Volt provides DAP (Digital Audio Processing) to maintain your vehicles clear and superior audio quality while offering to upgrade the factory PCM with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto capability. Additionally you will maintain all camera systems currently in your vehicle while allowing for future upgrades for additional cameras in the front, rear, and side (360 birds eye view).
Other features include
Independent navi, media, and mic volume controls
Factory mic integration
Enhanced Bluetooth phone call clarity
Mirror Link - Phone screen mirrored on your screen. This includes vertical and panoramic orientations.
15 bar DSP equalizer
Support for aftermarket cameras up to 1080p
USB video and music playback
Dynamic parking sensors
Steering wheel functionality
No loss of factory navigational maps in the gauge cluster
Compatibility with Base, Bose, and Burmester audio systems
The system fits in the following cars
Pcm 3.0
911 2009 - 2011
Cayenne 2009
Boxster/Cayman 2009-2012
Pcm 3.1
911 2012-2016
Boxster / Cayman 2013-2016
Panamera / Cayenne 2010-2016
Macan 2015-2016
PCM 2.0, PCM 2.1, CDR 23 (with CD changer), CDR 24(with CD changer) - This is a basic wireless Bluetooth upgrade, not Carplay or Android Auto
I was somewhat interested as I'm not really 100% satisfied with the dongle situation I bought last year- but I see your solution is only applicable for the first gen 95B.1 Macan.
I'd be interested when/if you have something for PCM5.

The only downside I found with these units is that (due to the inherent design of the external PCM inputs) you can't listen to the built-in FM/AM or satellite radio and also have the CarPlay functionality running on screen.
The only way to get tunes or audio programs while using these solutions is to use an audio source that's also in the CarPlay interface (Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, etc.)
Disappointing to me because I had wanted to utilize my existing Sirius subscription (and not by eating up my data plan by app streaming) while also using a more modern navigation app such as Waze at the same time.

New systems are available and now the MIC is integrated into the harness. We continue to lead the way in the highest quality and best sounding Carplay and Android Auto product on the market.
Very good and useful video. Do you have a video of its operation?
Here is a boot video of my own cayenne. Note, that I later set my cayenne as a "safe" connection on my android so it boots right in without me selecting "android auto".
