In other news, Ford recently announced layoffs at a time when you can't order a MachE because they are "sold out". Too bad they couldn't reallocate those employees where they are needed to boost EV production. The tipping point is happening before our eyes at all automakers. Porsche just happens to be miles ahead.
The article quotes Blume as stating: "In 2025, half of all new Porsche sales are expected to come from the sale of electric vehicles – i.e. all-electric or plug-in hybrid. In 2030, the share of all new vehicles with an all-electric drive should be more than 80 percent."
Of course schedules change but everyone in Europe is has obvious incentive to consider EVs now that Putin's war has crimped supply. Germany has the technology to meet their goals of increased transportation electrification and, unlike certain nations that shall remain unnamed, Germany has shown the political will to collaborate for the long term best outcome for everyone. You can bet government financial incentives will be created to help people take the leap. I would be happy to just get a free loaner Rimac one weekend per year with every new Porsche EV purchase. That would seal the deal, no financial incentives needed.
