I HATE the 2022 console
PORSCHE in their INFINITE WISDOM has ...IMHO ... SCREWED UP What was wrong with the actual BUTTONS on the pre 22 consoles?
You could put your hand on the console and "feel" what you wanted to control....now you MUST LOOK DOWN NOT A GOOD "UPDATE"
AND , it gets messy looking............

Disagree. I love it. I have always found the 1000 button Porsche SUV consoles to be ugly, this finally cleaned it up and it's one of the main reasons I waited for a 2022. Porsche has used this console in other models since 2017. But to each their own.
I had mine covered w/ PPF in both the Macan and Panamera. Xpel makes a precut template for it.

While I understand the OP point, I also disagree.
The 2022 console is a distinct improvement.

Practicality wise the previous generation was probably better, but looks wise the '22 is much nicer. The only problem with the new one is that it seems it will get dirty easily, otherwise I prefer it over the previous buttons.

I had no problem with the old buttons and I've no problem with the new console except that sometimes the sun reflects on the shiny surface right into my eyes.

I hate touch screens and controls in vehicles. Can't feel what you're pressing, they lose their x/y calibration from time to time and have to be reset, and when you hit a bump when trying to select something, you select something else, and you have to look at the screen to find the right spot. I don't like Android Auto or Carplay either as it locks me out of things I may need to access on my phone when sitting at a red light.
All of the above is probably why my newest Porsche is a 2009, my newest car in the fleet is my daughter's 2012 Audi, and I prefer to DD a 40 year old 928 to anything Porsche has made in the last decade.
We had a rental 2012 Audi Q5 for a month with massive screen plopped atop the dash. The driver interaction 8n the 2012 we own is so much better and the smaller screen is much better integrated into the dash as well.

Sorry Petza914, this troglodyte has you beat. I am retiring my '94 Grand Cherokee that I special ordered 28 years ago and rebuilt everything myself, for my pending Macan delivery. I am REALLY going to miss this OBD1 vehicle that doesn't REQUIRE a dealership for EVERYTHING...

If your new MACAN is anything like my previous 2019, or present 2022 the only times it will see the dealer is for the yearly services...
(although I do have a problem with 2022, I think the headlights are aimed a bit too low )
