Should I go with the S or GTS?

I have a GTS on order and dealer leased me an S to drive until my GTS comes in - I don't have air suspension - This S is quick enough for a DD - it is a very nice vehicle- but the day it goes away, I won't give it a second thought - unlike my X5M - which I missed right away - the GTS will be far more cost than the S I am driving now, but it will have every option I wanted (including Burnmeister) and I am looking forward to the change. The GTS I had for a weekend from the dealer to drive, felt special - the S - is nice, but doesn't have the same appeal for me.
Get what best fits what you want - you can always get a GTS next time! When you buy the S, ask the dealer to agree to provide you an allocation for a GTS .

Wow that is... very interesting to know. That would surely set some fire on the forum, if it hasn't yet.

I've had both and love my 2022 GTS! It's a blast to drive and feels like my 911!!

Three Wheelin'
The above dyno charts would indicate that the old GTS (now S) motor generates approx. 410 stock hp at the crank (not wheel) and the old Turbo (now GTS) would generate approx. 460 stock hp at the crank. Delta is 50 hp. Published Porsche specs show '23 S engine with 375 hp and '23 GTS with 434 hp. Delta is 59 hp. Even at 50 hp the difference would definitely show up on any butt dyno.
Oh, and BTW, Nick Murray's opinions are strictly subjective - your opinions may differ.

I agree that the Turbo ('22 GTS) makes close to 50 hp more than the old GTS ('22S) at the very top end of the rpm range. However, the hp results up to about 5500 between the old Turbo ('22 GTS) and the old GTS ('22 S) and are very similar showing that extra power only comes at the very top of the rev range. If anything, the torque curves on this comparison show slightly more torque across the mid range on the old GTS ('22 S). Admittedly, other vehicles compared could show different results. However, the bottom line I think is that in everyday driving, the normal driver would simply not notice the power difference between the two.

I absolutely love my Macan S, but I’m two year away from my next car and I’m really torn between getting another Macan (hopefully a Turbo, if they make one) or a 992 C4 for my next Porsche.
My Macan S just about satiates my sports car lust.

What year 911 are you comparing it to?

don't fool your self it is a 911
I have a 992 C4S and a base 2022 Macan that is being replaced with a 2023 Macan GTS
but no comparison in driving betwwn the 911 and Macan

The price difference between a fully spec’d Macan GTS and a Carrera 4 optioned the way I’d want it is only about $35k. If I could get 95% of the 911 experience in a Macan, I’d have a hard time not getting a Macan instead.
However, once I start approaching $140k for a car, I’d have a hard time not just buying a 991.2 Turbo instead of a new C4 (that’s assuming used 911 prices return to normal in the next two years)
thanks for the input!
OP, I’m sorry for hijacking the thread on you

The Macan GTS doesn't drive like a 911, of course, but it's getting closer. From my butt dyno, it drives and handles like 70-80% of a 991.2 GTS; I haven't driven a 992. JMHO. Where the 911 shines, as with other dialed in sports cars, is when you push it to its limits and due to the nature of the Macan being an SUV, it just will not give you that 100% satisfaction of a true sports car. Nevertheless, the Macan GTS holds its own. Overall, I think it's the best "overall" handling SUV on the market today. I opted for the '22 Macan GTS because I wanted a '21 Turbo but couldn't find one. I like the updated design and glad that a '21 Turbo wasn't an option for me. At the end of the day, only you know what you want. The S is a great choice if you don't want/need the top of line variant. Life is full of regrets and I try to minimize them as I get older. Choose wisely and enjoy!

That’s what I keep hearing from others (and what I keep telling myself).

Not to derail you from your current order, but if you are really looking for a sports car feel that can haul others (assuming why you ordered a macan), you may want to consider a used panamera GTS...
