Mr12Volt CarPlay/AA system for PCM3.1

Some folks testing the MCU firmware update are reporting that the update does not solve the popping issue fully. It rather mask the issue. So when music is not playing you are not able to hear it, but when music is playing the popping is still there.

I have a 2014 Panamera 4S and when navigation is active it displays directions and turns in the gauges (in addition to the PCM screen). Is it correct that that the navigation in the gauge display would be lost when CarPlay is using Waze or another navigation application? Thanks in advance for your insight - great and informative thread!

However, this is not a function of Mr12Volt, is a function of CarPlay implementation in PCM (I don’t believe CarPlay have that ability yet). I have a 2018 Cayman with native CarPlay in PCM 4 and is the same behavior.
As stated before, you would still be able to see native maps. You could technically run the Waze in your PCM CarPlay, and use native PCM and display it in MFD.

PCM 3.1 MR 12 Volt install Question
I received my MR 12 Volt for PCM 3.1 for 2014 Cayenne. I have installed the components and am ready to install back in my rig.
‘what’s with the two red and one teal power wires? Teal labeled reverse light in, two reds are front and rear 12 V power..
to I need to rune those to power? I have factory rear camera.
Then there is a RCA looking yellow that says “rear car input”.. is that for aftermarket cameras?
Thanks!

Should I continue to hold off on purchasing until this is fixed?

boot logo
Today, I received the update file to replace the "Mr12Volt" logo at boot up. I chose to replace with a OEM Macan S logo. It now looks OEM...

The procedure for installation, once you receive the file, replace the bootlogo file by the logo of interest in 800x480 resolution. It needs to be *.jpg. Then remove the *.jpg extension and save the raw file, along with the update file, into a USB drive (32GB or less formatted in DOS FAT16 or FAT32). Plug in the USB into system USB port, turn car on, and wait until update is complete.
