Better chrome subsampling (no blurry edges).
Low image bit-depth.

Thank you @Santirx for this thread and the extensive installation vids/posts. I was able to install in my Panamera in one evening and everything went smoothly thanks to your guides.
Being able to order the Amazon 3.5mm cord for the factory mic and add that in at the start made the overall experience much better. I had been hesitant about having that aftermarket microphone bobbing about and went through with the purchase after I discovered your solution.

Has Mr 12 Volt PCM 3.1 worked out bugs yet?
Hi Santrix, thanks for all of your DD on this topic.
My Isudar is coming out today, the Aux sound quality is literally unbearable. Aux BT is fine, but Aux input must be selected to get voice on Waze or Google maps. Attempting to have Waze fully functioning means I simply “can not listen to music at the same time”. I was told I have the latest board and software when it was shipped to me.. Now Kimi says an “update may help”… Frustrated and disappointed.
have the bugs around “popping” in Mr 12V’s product been addressed?

I agree, the mic solution is a must have. I can’t stand the aftermarket mics either. Mr12Volt should implement this solution in their product, as it is really an easy add-on.

I’ve had this product installed for a few months now after research here and Santirx great posts. I don’t have the same popping issue described here but I am getting concerned about battery drain. After the car sits overnight it’s getting increasingly difficult to start. My battery is new within the last few months but something is draining it and I’m guessing its Mr 12volt. Has anyone else experienced this? I’ve turned off some settings such as “autostart the app” to no avail. It’s a really good product and love having it but worried about this issue with the battery.

Thank you for the update. And thanks to @Santirx for exploring this new setup from Mr12v. It may just save my PCM from being ditched.
I had iSudar and it stopped working after a firmware update. I ordered a new iSudar board but had an identical problem with new board: black screen. The PCM itself still works. I even tested both boards with a different PCM which I purchased used, and same problem. I ended up buying the Mr12v board. I have high hopes and your post adds to the enthusiasm. If Mr12v doesn’t work I’ll go against my OEM-obsessed nature and opt out for an aftermarket stereo system (one of Tesla screen ones) and stop wasting money on these boards. It has become a headache and I can’t live without CarPlay anymore. PCM3.1’s Bluetooth setup is as dumb as it gets. Granted, once I took iSudar out, I realized PCM’s own Bluetooth sounded better.
Regarding battery drain: I confirmed iSudar was draining my battery such that after a couple of days the car refused to start. Without iSudar, no more issues. the car never refused to start. I will be monitoring Mr12v as well. I have an old battery which will not handle slow drainage well. I will post my experience in this thread.

Have you applied the latest firmware update? It addresses the issue where can wakeup would wake up the box. If you have a tracker (Porsche Car Connect) or similar that would be waking up can and in turn was waking up Mr12volt unit. They have changed this behaviour.

I’ve been communicating with Mr12Volt about video quality. Even though I mainly care about audio quality, we have noticed some issues, like banding, on video quality. Mr12Volt responded in a few seconds… this is something they will be looking at.
Below is my communication and their responses, with some photos for comparison in WhatsApp:
Photo # 1 = mr12volt in my Macan PCM3.1
Photo # 2 = PCM4.0 in my Cayman
Photo # 3 = Isudar in my Macan PCM3.1
