Default '22 S v. GTS Engines

Hi, Cayenne owner considering a change, trying to get educated. Is software the only difference between the engines in the '22 S vs. GTS? Thanks.

As far as I have read it is just tuning. Hardware is the same. Not 100% sure though.

Thanks yeah I mean it's the same engine (same engine as my '21 Cayenne S too) but info on any hardware differences seems hard to come by.

I think if you are comparing the 2 models what it came down to for me was that by the time I spec'd out an S how I wanted it I was at GTS territory cost-wise because many of the options I chose on the S would come standard on the GTS. I think the problem now is getting a '22 Macan GTS allocation is like trying to get a GT4 RS allocation at the moment.

Yes, only difference is factory tune. There are several aftermarket tunes for the 2.9L. Check out Flat6motorsports.com under 2020 GTS. Burger Tuning is good and works well on Audi RS4/RS5 with same 2.9L
Attached dyno chart is about the same for both until 5500, then GTS (22 S) detunes and Turbo (22 GTS) keeps going until 6700.
Dyno chart shows 340whp for the GTS (22 S) which translates to about 395hp at the crank (not 375). Typical Porsche marketing to get people to go for the higher hp trim $$.

Correction on my post above;
That dyno chart is for factory engine (crank) power and showed max of 390hp and 395 ft lbs torque for the 21 GTS (22 S).

The 340 whp I mentioned was from another dyno chart which is now attached. 340 whp translates to about 390 crank hp.
The 2020 S (3.0) showed 296whp and 346 ft lbs.
