i do not think Porsche has anything to worry about. The dynamics of the Macan have been lauded well above the competition and it has not been a horsepower race.

To me the Maser is nice looking and the interior is lovely. Not a fan of the tacked on looking fender lips.

That said my GTS looks handsome and I love my interior in black with racetex headliner. Feels special.

I've owned both, rather my father did. A former boss/business owner let me drive his 308 GT4 Dino (1978 model?) Surely unreliable, but I never heard him complain. It was the most beautiful indigo/purple/blue and the oscillating-tone air horn was a surprise. I wouldn't keep one, but second gear in that machine was the perfect ratio. I've been searching for that experience again, my 911 was close but not as delightful as the Ferrari.
Edit, And the sound...

Wow!

I've owned a lot of cars over the years. The best was a Maserati GranTurismo. I still miss it A LOT. My Porsche 991 is boring looking in comparison and doesn't create the "music" pf the Maserati V-8, not even close. As we are tiring of the Macan S, I'll take a look at the new SUV from Modena.

I have a Macan and a Giulia for daily driving...the Macan was solid, only 2 small problems in almost 4 years, but the 2020 Giulia, in the first 8,000 miles visited the dealer 5/6 times, 1 coil plug, 2 relays (intercooler and start/stop that made my car a block in the driveway), wheels decoloration, etc, after the 8k miles mark and for the last 7k miles it is running good but I will not make a family travel with it. I always use my wife's Macan for travel, took it to the tail of the dragon, did a 2.3K miles in total and it was so great in every aspect, so I just order the new 2022 Macan GTS.
Maserati has the same problems as Alfa, Ferrari is so much more solid today...so I went with a Macan again as a family car.

I'm sure that review was based on his experience with the actual vehicle and not in any way influenced by remuneration.

Volvo has the same reliability as Maserati but a better reputation. Perception Management.

When you get to the part about the steering . . . that’s when you find out all the good just got canceled out.

Those fender vents are getting SO tiring. They look "old" and gaudy to me.

Looks like an offspring as a result of a 2020 era Porsche hooking up with a 2000 era Buick.
