Default Tire size

I was already looking to get a set of Michelin Polit sport 4S tires for my future Macan S that I plan to order later this year. I noticed Michelin does not offer the PS4S tire in the 265/45R20 (Front) and 295/40R20 (Rear) size that come on the Macan 20 inch wheels. The closest size that I could find is a 265/40R20 (Front) and 295/35R20 (Rear). With the only difference being a slightly smaller sidewall would this tire be able to fit on the stock 20 inch rims since the width is the same?

You need the PS 4 "SUV"

I am running 20" in the summer in the 40 aspect ratio. Excellent tire, we will see how many miles I get out of them.

I saw the SUV version on their website but I really wanted the PS4S because they are rated a little bit better and seem to be a better ultra high performance tire overall and I currently have them on one of my cars and they are fantastic.

I can't remember but I do not think the PS 4SUV on my rig are "N" rated for Porsche, however the Alpin winters I have on the vehicle right now are. There are some subtle differences like addition of thin sipes on the outside shoulder and undoubtedly a slightly different compound. I could not find the max load rating for the regular PS 4's but the PS 4SUV and the "Latitude" both carry the same max load (XL) rating at max 2,337 lbs so the PS 4 probably has the same sidewall/belt construction .

Thought of that, but only problem is I am already thousands over my budget with the way I optioned my Macan S so I really don't want to spend another $2K on wheels.

For 20", best tire I'm reading about is Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus (265/45-295/40). About $1500 for a set from Tirerack. Great dry, wet, comfort and treadwear ratings since they're all-season. I plan on getting a set for my 2022 S as soon as I burn through these soft summer Michelin Latitude Sport 3.

^ Between the warm weather and soft rubber I wish I had simply chosen an All Season. Would have been fine for the majority of my travels. With Mich PS4SUV on the car in the summer I rarely get to enjoy them because the back-seat-driver (kid) barks at me for wasting gas.

I have driven cars with summer performance tires and all season tires and much prefer the driving dynamics of the summer tire especially since I am a pretty spirited driver. I am only 21 and no kids, so no one to tell me how to drive. We also get quite a bit of snow here in Northern Illinois so I would be much more comfortable with dedicated snow tires during the winter especially since I live in a relatively rural area and streets are not cleared that quickly after a winter storm.

If you ended up with the All Season and were closer I would happily swap with you. I love the PS 4SUV, but dread having to shell out even more for another set when they're gone.

Are the PS 4SUV the tires you get if you choose the summer tire option on the Porsche Website or did you get those yourself?

tirerack purchase
4 BBS + 4 MICH PS 4SUV + 4 MICH Pilot Alpin 5 SUV, then bought snow wheels locally because kid found the crack in one of the original rear wheels
I am old and although i love to drive hard my days of pushing the vehicle to the limit are over. I wish i had chosen a tire with versatility and longer lifespan.
i just looked and they are 13% higher than when I bought them in May 2021 (wheels went up too.)
