My mechanic says 10,000 miles is much too long. I have read a thread or two about this, but never saw any kind on consensus regarding the interval. When are most of you changing the oil? Thx

Twice a year (Fall and Spring) irrespective of mileage due to condensation and huge temperature variances 160 miles from the arctic circle.

I like to DIY on my cars so I do 3k miles or 12 months whichever comes first. Too many cars in the stable (more than my sig) and drive them all so none rack up big mileage annually. The Macan gets the most miles because it love it for road trips....1 change this year and planning another one on Labor Day weekend.

Anyone who does UOA (used oil analysis) on their oil changes would never run oil longer than 5,000 miles. Viscosity falls, oil gets acidic, and wear additives leave.
