Default Moving from a 992C4S

Hello!

After just over a year with the 992C4S the head has finally overruled the heart (the bank balance also had a large say in it &#128517 and I’ve decided to trade in against a new Turbo. Should be picking this up on the 1st September (new registration day in the UK)…

Great spec (was meant to be the showroom car) and apparently last physical turbo in the group in the UK. Thought now was an excellent time to maximise the trade in deal and in the UK dealers can’t add additional margin on MRSP, so it made much more sense to buy new than used.

Whilst the 992 is fantastic, I didn’t get any where near its capabilities on our faltering tarmac here.

Wondering if any others have done a similar move? How are you finding the Macan as a daily ?

Those manikins, OMG so creepy, almost as bad as the headless versions.
The Macan is beautiful.

Kinda. I have a 997 and wife had a Macan S. When she hit 150,000 miles we got her a new Cayenne. They offered me $10,000 on a trade so I kept the Macan. And now I'm driving it. Every day. Much better car for daily duties and regular roads. I hate to say that. But I enjoy the drive to work in the Macan so much more.

The 992 had become so large for a 911 that the Macan will feel like almost the same car but with storage capacity and more suspension, plus the newer Porsche design language works better on their SUVs than it does on their sports cars and in selecting a black exterior the front fascia treatment works instead of looking like an unfinished hole or an electric razor. Great looking Macan - congrats.

I went from a 991.2 C4S to a Cayenne eHybrid and we've had a Macan S that my wife drives daily since 2016. Though the eHybrid was an utter nightmare (I got rid of it after 18 months of ownership), the Macan S has been rock solid and it's an utter joy to drive. I find myself missing the 911 maybe 5% of the time. The other 95% of the time I don't miss the 911 at all.

If I were in the market for another new Porsche, I would be looking to buy a current gen Macan Turbo or a MY22 Macan GTS. I think that you're going to be very, very happy. Congratulations on a beautiful car.

Many thanks Petza914!
I can’t take much credit for how it looks since the garage specced it, although I don’t think I would have done much differently!

Many thanks Philip,
I’m hoping I will be the same… possibly miss the potential of early morning blasts on quiet roads, but to be honest in reality I rarely got to drive it that way. I think the Macan will tick pretty much all of the boxes - I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on it!

Congratulations! She's a beauty - fab spec. I also traded in from a 911 (a 991.2) to a Macan and have the same Turbo rims on my Macan S. With the Turbo, you won't miss much speed and the added practicality is helpful. Enjoy!

In 2019 I had an Audi A4 Allroad and a 991.2 Cab. I hit a deer with the Cab and had it repaired. It was never quite the same, so I traded it for my 2020 Macan S at the end of 2019 when the Audi lease expired. I wanted to simplify things and get one car that gave me both the utility that I needed and the sportiness that I wanted. I love the Macan, but I'm glad I have my wife's 997 to drive. That all being said, I'm looking forward to my 992 that's arriving in a couple of months.

If the deer incident never happened do you think you would have stayed with the Allroad?

Same here. Sold mine back for purchase price minus mileage to dealership. Yours looks awesome and wishing you many enjoyable miles.

My dealership was very understanding and supportive. I get my 21 Turbo Macan end of Sept. http://www.porsche-code.com/PMB2TWZ0

You have GOT to be kidding me , trading in?.

First the steering wheel is on the wrong side, and leaving the 992C4S for a ... and yes, I do have a 992C4S and (the wife) has a 2020 Macan S...I'd go for a Touareg V8 with air suspension since they still sell them over the pond.

Wow sorry to see you leave the 992... The Macan S is a good car, much smaller than a Touareg, doesn't tow as much nor has the ground clearance (if any of that is of importance) but is more nimble. What it isn't is a 992 yet your bank balance will definitely improve
