After two years with a Macan S, I'm sick of the failure to launch when I step on the "Go" pedal. What the heck were the Porsche engineers thinking of when they went to a non-reactive electronic throttle???? The damn thing is dangerous. Has anyone filed complaints with NHITSA? I think we are at the end of our time with this menace. I'd be tempted to buy a Sprint Booster like I had on my Maserati, but, the Mac has too many other shortcomings. We'll likely go back to a Mercedes. We were just visiting our old 2009 E350 and it is such a pleasurer to ride in and drive.

I received my Pedalbox+ today and installed it on my R8 Performance (GTS doesn't arrive until spring of '22). The install was literally a 20 second job, at least on this vehicle. I'm pretty sure that the driving experience with this gadget will be very similar regardless of vehicle so here it goes. O-M-G! Yeah, that's right, @*@&#^!! It transformed the driving experience for sure. I never thought that the throttle response was horrible on this vehicle but the Pedalbox makes driving so much more alive and fun. It definitely makes the car feel faster and probably shaves off a split second on the 0-60 time (not using launch control of course). I know that this gizmo doesn't make the car faster, allegedly, but how can it not?! Faster reflexes.... The biggest difference for me is during cruise, at WOT, the power response and gear change happens at a much quicker rate. This is how all cars should come from the factory. When the GTS arrives, this will be my first mod.

 

No turbo lag on mine, let alone "NOTORIOUS". Where did you get that?
I have 26K miles on my GTS, and I totally disagree.
My friend's turbo, also a 2018, behaves almost exactly the same. Never drove an S.

 

I test drove a ‘21 Macan S and I didn’t like the hp/torque delivery. I’m hoping that the new GTS with 434hp & 405 ft-lbs will feel substantially better. Of course, there isn’t much a simple tune can’t fix.
