Default Itch

The problem will be the Macan is the itchy scab that triggers the 911 hemorrhage when scraped...

It's more about getting back into the brand after a 13 year break. I love 911's but maybe a car that serves multiple purposes is a better route due to some garage limitations and parking limits at my house. Unfortunately I'm really only set up for 2 vehicles. Not impossible to do 3 cars, just not ideal.
Go drive a Macan GTS with Sport+/PTV+. It's as close as you'll get to a 911 plus it has more room, a more comfortable ride when you want it, a quieter ride (when you want it) and a beast when you want it to be!

Ha-ha! Good thread.

Thinking a Macan is like a 911, is kind of like imagining you're with Kate Beckinsale when your date is actually Snookie.

Macan is the best Sport wagon on the market.

It’s not a 911.

It drives better than the BMWs and the PDK makes it worth it over the Audi.

It really all depends on what you’re expecting from this SUV.

Personally I don’t think the Turbo is worth it. I also believe the GTS is only worth it over an S if you’re seeking all the same performance and appearance options that come standard on the GTS.

You have to look carefully at the packages that come with each series, as they are easy to miss. For example, the Macan Turbo comes standard with Surface Coated Brakes (white calipers) which means no brake dust - and that's a $ 3,500 option on a GTS. Porsches are peppered with all these kind of add-ons so do your homework to see what is included as standard in your build. The one "must have" option in the V6 Macans in my opinion is the air-ride suspension (again, standard on the Turbo), it makes a major difference in how the vehicle rides.

I stand corrected. Wife's Macan S has it and we test drove those that did not - night and day difference and that quickly became our one "must have" option.

If I had to give up all the options I ordered one at a time, air suspension would be the last to go.

From the Configurator appears to be standard:

Chassis
Adaptive Air Suspension incl. Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) (Lowered 10 mm)

It appears to have been standard on my CPO 2018 GTS - not listed on the build sheet but definitely on the car...

I am building my S now for an April delivery. Was not interested in the GTS because of $12K more. Looking at the costs and standard features... it comes out to be only $5K more. GTS-Air Suspension, PASM, Sport Exhaust w/ tips, side blade in Gloss black, window trim in gloss black, ALL included. Plus wheels included or discounted, leather package & Prem Plus packages discounted. I'm test driving the GTS later this week. This is mostly for road trips & everyons says the Air Suspension & PSASM are musts.
