Reliability and depreciation of a 2020 Macan Turbo?
A friend has offered to sell me his 2020 Macan Turbo, well-optioned to a 100k MSRP, for approx $80K with about 8,000 miles.
1) Would you consider this to be a good deal?
2) What type of value do you think I would be looking at 5-6 years down the road, around 70k miles?
3) Thoughts on reliability/annual maintenance?

2) $50,000.
3) Typical Porsche expenses if dealer kept. Expect an average of several thousand dollars a year for maintenance. If something breaks outside of warranty it may cost you several thousands of dollars. Explore extended warranty possibilities or self bank it.

Several thousands of dollars a year for maintenance? Care to elaborate? That seems a little steep.

Dealers charge $1,000 for basic stuff like oil/filter changes, brake maintenance often includes fluid replacement, rotors, pads and run $2,000 at the dealer. Indi's are no doubt half the price. Spark plugs, transfer case fluids, PDK fluid changes are expensive. Yes, it is steep and not what one would expect coming from a Subaru, Honda or Toyota.

Porsche has had over five years to get it right on this model. 2020 could be the last of the good Macan's, especially the Turbo. Just be sure the the "well-optioned" options are what you'd want. Dealer's charges vary with location and how greedy they've become. PCA member discounts on parts and labor help. Many good independents are very competitive but, like everything else, labor rates are getting exorbitant. Shopping for parts on-line and DIY is the way to go if you're so inclined. Just keep good records for warranty's sake.

I was just on Carguru. I found many 2020 MB GLC63S coupes for around $77K. Original prices ranged around $100K+. Your friends car is priced too high, IMO.

I laughed my *** of at the guy that said a 5 or 6 year old Turbo with 70k miles would be worth $50k. It will be worth maybe $30k. No one will even glance at a 50k+ mile used Macan unless it's a CPO, and no dealership will give you more than 30 on trade in for 5 years old & 70k miles.
Reliability is okay but you'll want to extend the warranty before it runs out.
I'd say it averages out to $1.5-2k a year in maintenance for 5 years & 70k miles. A few of the "milestone" services you'll hit are quite expensive.

Put it this way. Carmax will give me around $52K for my originally $110K loaded up 2018 Macan Turbo (black, no funny colors) with 13K miles on it. It’s depreciated so much I am kind of forced to hold on to it. Which I guess is a good thing knowing my personality.
I can afford this but it is going to be hard for me to justify making this mistake again (buying a brand new fully loaded expensive German car).
