Weak garage door opener
My 2018 Macan S has such a weak gargare door opener. The car has to be within 3 ft of my garage door to work. The opener that comes with the opener will open the door from 100ft away. Any way of making the the Macan's opener have more range?

There is a youtube video of a guy doing just that. He solders a coax cable into the garage door opener, extends the cable to the front of his garage and hangs an externall antenna to the garage eve. You can also find kits on Amazon.

Just add some bell wire to the antenna on the head unit of the opener. About 18 feet. Bring 2 pieces towards the door and make a T.

It's not the Macan, it's probably the antenna on the opener unit. I can open the garage with an ancient opener unit even from 30 feet away. See above for a couple of suggestions how to fix it.

What has me going nutso now are all the swirling leaves that get in front of the photo cells and I can't get the door down. So I have the warm up the leaf blower and take ten minutes to send those to my neighbors.

You just might have to ask for a battery powered blower for Christmas!

On our 2017 Macan S it works great from over a football field.
We have a TON of issues when very close to the garage though. We did a simple fix on our Liftmaster garage door opener to "fix" the close in stuff.
The wire that comes down we simply "uncurled" it and it made a world of difference.
Hope that helps and our garage door opener is almost 12 years old.

This is a known issue with the Macan. There are some other other threads about it. Also check macanfoum.com if you want to research it. I have Liftmaster 8500's, 5 cars, and the only car that has short range and or fails to open the doors occasionally is the Macan. I find the position/distance/angle of the Macan relative to the door, will impact success, i.e some positions work better than others. My openers are also Wi-Fi enabled so if the door does not open, I just use my phone. Some have suggested it is related to LED lights in the garage of which i have many and don't plan on changing. Anyway, I just live with it...

LEDs do have an impact.
Just extend the antennae wire with some small gauge bell wire. Works amazingly well.
