Ask them if the repair is going to be reported to carfax. That note will come back to bite you in the **** when you go to sell the car, and you should be compensated for the reduction in your car's value.

They *should* report it to carfax (so the next buyer knows), and they *should* be compensating you for the damage.

Took my X3 3.5i in for routine service to the dealer last year. Valet ran over the curb and gouged the wheel, which I noticed before I left. The Service Manager had one look, ordered a new wheel, had it mounted and balanced that afternoon, and fired the valet. Apparently it wasn't the first time that had happened.

Update

She got lucky that she only had to have the bumper resprayed. The damage to the hood was all in the clearbra. Tomorrow it'll get the clearbra on hood and bumper. She is happy but vowed to never let the dealer pick up or delivery the car ever again.

This is no different than hiring a contractor...the differences in the value streams are where the problems arise...dudes doing the valet activities, at this point in their lives (for the most part) do not have the means and therefore, do not share the same perspective when it comes to being careful...they are some min wage dude picking up a car...they nor the dealer really gives a hoot regardless of what they say. I see the same **** at marinas too...to a point you have to stay involved or be ready for the unfortunate “**** happens” engagement.

Big let down , I never feel safe with valet ? I was at a marina where parking was tough . They would valet our vehicles to a satellite lot during peak times . At the time I had a 928s4 , one morning I walk up to my car with a crinkle scuff on the drivers side front corner . Disappointment to say the least ! So go have a convo with the manager , sorry no cameras ? Yeah I bet they will be working when I seek revenge !!! From that point on I used a beater ford ranger farm truck for the marina activities , funny they would avoid moving that truck around . My attorney resolved the damage scenario . I am always amazed how cavalier vehicle handlers are ?

I have an old Toyota I take if we absolutely need to valet park.

Some idiot ran into a concrete pillar with the front bumper.

This was pre Covid.

I never had it fixed and pocketed the repair money.
