I bought a pre-owned Macan and shift plate is starting to peel and crack. I'd like to replace it. Does anyone have instructions on how to remove this?

Pull the leather covering the shifter out by grabbing with both hands the stitching until it pops out. Once that's out of the way, you should be able to unclip the plate with a plastic panel tool to release it.

Make sure you don't rip it completely out. Simply with both hands, grab the stictching lifting it out of the well so that it is still attached but out of the way allowing you to pry the plastic off. I don't recommend a screwdriver but a plastic panel removal tool will ensure you don't scratch anything. Youtube is a good place to maybe see a howto. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I have a plastic trim removal tool kit. I found a video on youtube for removing the boot, none for removing the plastic trim.
I'm waiting for the replacement trim to come in to give me an idea how it clips into the console. Thanks!!

Sweet, there you go.
If you look at the parts diagram it actually shows the tabs on the plate to guide you as you carefully pry. Take your time with it you should be fine.
