Who here has air suspension?
Wanted to know how it rides vs. the regular suspension for the macan. Would it enhance the smoothness if i got the 18inch rims with greater sidewall?

I have an 18 with air suspension and just bought my daughter an 18 without air suspension. I much prefer the air suspension but the one without isn’t terrible by any measure.

Mandatory option IMHO. Had it on a first gen Cayenne because we towed with it. Have it now on my wife's GTS. When my son ordered his S he also got it... Try it out yourself to see if it is that important to you. We had 2 different loaners when the GTS was in for the oil leak fix- they were decent enough but it reminded me again why we got air suspension...

I have it on my 2008 Touareg and on my 2020 Macan S. Wouldn't order one without it for where I live on 3 miles of gravel roads. Re. your other post, forgo the pano roof, it's just problems down the road (clogged drainage, condensation...just my 2cents).

Bottom line: People who have it seem to love it. People who don't have it hardly consider the Macan's suspension harsh or unrefined. So, it really depends on your budget and your expectations of future reliability and repair expenses. But if money is no object, it sounds like a great feature. I don't have it on my 2020 Macan, and I don't feel that I've missed anything. I kept the overall purchase price where I was comfortable, and I haven't given it a second thought. Good luck -- though you can't go wrong!

We have it on our '18 Macan SE. Love it. Rides better than our Cayenne Diesel with steel springs. Very comfortable ride with the 20" spider wheels. No harshness at all.

I have it on my '18 Macan GTS with 21" turbo wheels. I personally like stiffer suspensions, but I'm glad I have the Air Suspension because my family are very comfortable when they ride with me.

I test drove a Macan S with steel springs (my dealer doesn't bring them in with air suspension) and found the ride OK but a bit stiff for my liking on the poor roads we have in my city. I also found the ride a bit "busy" with some side to side motion (automotive journalists call this "head toss"). I test drove a GTS that comes standard with air suspension and Porsche says a 10% stiffer setup. I'd say it is perfect! A hint of float in comfort, but the suspension soaks up the harsh impacts; sport and sport plus settings are progressively firmer with no float and still no harshness. And, there ride is more settled with no "head toss". What could be better? I'm sold on the GTS air suspension and wouldn't get a Macan without it.

2004 cayenne s/2006 cayenne titanium s and now 2018 Macan gts all with air suspension. Had a loaner cayenne with springs. Actually not bad from a driver perspective but my wife said sitting in the back with less than perfect roads was abit to bumpy for her.

Air Suspension on my 19S. Love it. Lots of steep drives and parking lots around here and the adjustable ride height are great. Love the low setting for cruising.
