Default New Addition (2020 Macan S)

When these first came out, i hated how they looked and said I would NEVER spend that much money for a Porsche SUV. Eating my words...

When the Macan first came out I thought, "They will sell more of these than anything else!" But I never expected to buy one myself. Here I am with one. How about that?

My wife loves her's. Interesting back when we where in the final stages of building/placing order, I suggested that she might want to consider the MZB GLC 43AMG. Basically in the same class however, she didn't even want to waste time. Now, that was easy. Done, and haven't looked back since.

No, the Macan is not a 911 or even a Boxster for that matter. It's an SUV. But it's the Porsche of SUVs, and it is the best-driving, most-beautiful SUV I've owned. I had a 2006 BMW X3 6-spd manual in M-sport trim, a 2014 BMW X1 with their sweet 300-hp inline turbo six cylinder, and even had a 2019 Audi Q5 that turned out to be a lemon and was bought back after 3,000 miles. The Macan is just so much fun and such an all-around well designed package. Now I just need hiking season to start so I have an opportunity to drive it more! I have ~900 miles on my Macan since I bought it in January. It is no surprise that Porsche sells more Macan than any other model, at half the price of a 911 it's a compelling introduction to the brand.

So you are going to leave your Macan at a trailhead here in Washington? You are a far braver man than I am. Over the years I have experienced really bad news doing that.

I've lived in Seattle since 2003, and I've left my BMW 330Ci convertible, my BMW X3, my BMW X1, and my Audi Q5 at trailheads with no issues at all. Maybe we go to different trailheads? I tend not to hike popular trails.

Troubles included broken windows, stolen binoculars, boots, tents, punched out door locks. Areas were mostly Darrington and North Cascades. You have been really lucky or in more established parking areas where active foot traffic may have protected you. My Macan is going to stay away from these possibilities.
