Default Possible to completely disable bluetooth?

Is it possible to completely disable bluetooth? Sure, you can delete any existing phone setting and not add another, but is bluetooth transmission still taking place and available even if no phone device is currently configured? If the transmission is still active, can it be disabled altogether? Note that this was possible in my 2014 BMW X3. It's an involved story, but the thought behind this is to make it much more difficult for anyone to pair a phone within the vehicle.

Bluetooth discovery is disable as long as you are not in the phone menu. The pairing requires the user to confirm the phone on the PCM, if its not confirmed the pone is not paired.
Since you have the new PCM in the 2020, its the Panamera in this document.

Thanks, Todd B, for your response. The interesting question is if the bluetooth signal continues to be broadcast or not, but I believe you are saying that a long as there isn't an existing pairing and that you are not in the phone menu that there is no broadcast taking place? My impression is that there is no way to completely eliminate bluetooth transmissions altogether, even if not in discovery mode. BTW, this pertains to a base 2019 Macan. There's not anything I can find that specific in the documentation. I guess it's just a different approach from BMW's iDrive menu, which allows you to turn bluetooth off altogether. Some people, believe it or not, are averse to being in an environment in the proximity of bluetooth signals.

You could check, delete your phone from the PCM and see if you can find it. On 2017, the PCM is not discoverable when it's on, you have to go into the menu's to have it search for a device. It also has in the bluetooth menu an option to disable bluetooth.

People that worry about bluetooth signals should turn off bluetooth on their smart device. If they ever go in public your device is being ping'd via bluetooth beacons. More and more retailers are using the beacons to track consumers, they identify you via your MAC address and will know if you've been in the store before or not. Privacy in our world is gone.....
