One question: can it be set up to turn on the rear defrost when it is started?

It can not. It simply starts the vehicle the same as you starting it yourself. Whatever pre sets you have stored for climate control and mirror/seat positions will be as saved but nothing further. With the optional app you can lock and unlock the car and open the hatch but that’s as far as the features go

reviving old thread...
Can anyone provide feedback on the kit long term. any issues? also how does it work with Entry and Drive? if there is a key inside the car, can you open the car without a second key in your pocket?

Looks like you have to remove a bunch of panels. The vid is for a Toyota, but you get the general idea.

I figure its similar as I had on a Mercedes some years ago. I'm not scared but knowing which wires to plug into is helpful in saving time and frustration.
I'll post back. Always do my best to share back with community.

For $700+ bucks, I expect a video or pdf for every vehicle they say they support prior to ordering. I'm not interested in looking at a Toyota or Subaru. Just saying..

Got the unit in, fast shipping, kudos on that. Too bad it will take several weeks for me to get a second key. Winter might be over by then so I'm a little ticked.
Once you get the kit, there is a card with a support website. It will have a log-in and automatically give you video install instructions for the vehicle that you ordered the kit for. I looked through the videos and its decent info on how to remove panels and install the kit. Difficulty I'd say is 3 out of 10 simply because there are 3 wires to be soldered and space is a little tight to work with overall under the dash. Other than 3 wires everything just plug and play.

The reason for 3 wires is i think first version of the kit required for you to find a place to connect them in the fuse box. then they came out with a wiring harness that just plugs in the existing connections. Or..... because the same remote kit can be used on a Carrera but the wiring harness for the fuse box is different so it allows them the flexibility. In any case, for Macan you just need to solder the 3 wires from main harness to the additional harness for the fuse box. They are color coded. It sounds scarier than it is.
I will try and get photos when i do the install whenever the key arrives. But it is fairly easy, and if you are buying this kit instructions will be there and siberian posted one of the videos.
I hope they don't mind me sharing a print capture form the video.
