Break In Oil Change for 2020 Machan S?
Technical forums always talk about a first oil change relatively soon on a new or rebuilt engine (on motorcycles within 50 miles). Just bought a 2020 Machan S which we plan on driving for years. Is it wise to force a "break in" oil change when the dealer only quotes first service in a year or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first? If so, what would be the suggested mileage marker for this 3.0 turbo engine and why?

The suggest is 10k miles or 1 year, its in the manuals, following that schedule is what will keep you warranty active. You can do sooner, its your choice and your money. these are modern engines with tight tolerances. with that said, I typically go the 2000 mile break in period then change the oil. Send a sample for analysis to see the quality of oil and getting a baseline,

Due to where I live and time of delivery (est. early January) I arranged with Porsche NA to delay my one year "courtesy" service/oil change by 4 months to end of May 2021 as I wasn't going to drive near 900 miles round trip in January for that. I specified Mobil1 0-40w from the factory and will do my own first oil change as I do all my vehicles irrespective of mileage, Spring and Fall due to condensation of garage at 68F and current outside temp at -40F/C.
Both 12 year old Touaregs (115k miles and 81k miles) are running great as is the 2015 RS5.
