Like @skl, I just configured one to $96k too, that's a big jump from, I think $82k for my '17 which was delivered 6/2/16. I had a base as a loaner recently and we liked the updates, so I may get the optimized build GTS from what we learned from the '17. Don't like the idea of white calipers on a red/black car so regular brakes with oodles of ceramic pro on the wheels will have to do. The 2.9 TT engine is a nice surprise too.

You guys think it's worth upgrading from a 2020 Macan S to a 2021 Macan GTS later on this year? I do love those black RS wheels.

Let's define "worth".

For argument's sake, no. Taking an instantaneous depreciation hit, probably to the tune of $10k or more (not counting the more than likely difference in MSRP), just to have some options standard and some black accents? (The engine is different this model but still...)

That said, how many $10k watches do you have? Eyeing that new Mac Pro with the 8k monitor? My point is, people have dropped $10k on less.

It's just a matter of how much disposable income you have.

Also, you could probably get the OEM black wheels for less than the cost (and hassle) of a trade-in loss. Or even better, a set of forged aftermarket wheels with tires.

Default GTS ordered

My dealer has a single allocation for a March build and it now has my name on it. Probably looking at a June delivery if nothing changes. Dolomite silver, black and garnet interior. Trading a 19S.

The GTS looks like a great value. Built one today on the web configuration tool and the price was around $87k. My Turbo build is around $101k, definitely getting a nice bundle deal with the GTS package.

I keep looking at the 2020 Macan and the differences are not great enough to push me to part with my 2015 Macan Turbo. I ordered that car, took 9 months to arrive and I am still in love with 69,000 miles. Aside of maintenance she’s been bullet proof!

i think I am going to hold off for the next gen. Also, one of my pet peeves with the 2020 GTS and Turbo is the 2.9 Audi engine. Then original Turbos have a genuine Porsche 3.6 liter engine. Also, when you open the hood on the new Turbo and GTS models, I can’t get past the single air intake duct for the hood. The hood has two intakes and my 2015 rams air from both of them. Why did they change that?

Lol! $1200 powder-coating of the already available RS wheels should do the job in that event.

Is the 2.9L twin turbo in the GTS and Turbo a Porsche built engine or built by Audi? Audi is using a 2.9L in the new RS5. I am curious if it is the same engine.

It’s shared with and built by Audi.

Got an email yesterday that I have an allocation already. I submitted a Night Blue Metallic build but now I'm having second thoughts on the color... I'd order black and wrap it, but my wife wants carmine red and Im not sure I'm feeling it. NBM was our compromise.

My wife has picked the color of all our Porsches. It's a small compromise to make on your part for tremendous buy-in from her. Count your blessings for having a supportive wife and make her happy. Good luck!

No changes that makes me feel like I need to part with my ‘18, I’ll wait for the EV Macan.
3.0 is the old Audi engine with single turbo, the 2.9 is the new engine and twin turbos. The 2.9 is a much better engine. The 2.9 will show up in other VW products since it is new with lower emission.
Also rated at 2.9 for lower tax in Chine, Europe, etc

My wife even jokes that she likes everything that no one else likes... now she's leaning Mamba Green ... this is going to be a stressful couple weeks before we lock it in
