Default Parking sensor alerts around Fords

Wife drives a ‘18 Macan and mentions that whenever she’s at a stoplight with a late model Ford on either side, she gets warnings and cautions triggered on front parking sensors. Is this a known problem with an available fix?

When I am at a stoplight and the sensors go off for some unknown reason, I look around and sure enough there is a Ford product nearby. I don't know if the "sonar" used by Ford products are too strong and trigger our parking sensors.

Yes. Something about Fords. I wonder if their sensors are going off too.

Mine do that as well. It might be trying to warn me there is a possible Mustang nearby but it can’t tell the difference between Fords? Or it might be the cross traffic alert sensors running on the same frequency as the Porsche sensors.

Never looked to see what cars were around. Maybe it is a Ford vs. Porsche thing.

Might need to make a "Ford vs Porsche" sequel to this (though the sequel will take place in a parking lot)

Yes, I’ve noticed the same issue in my 911. Maybe they use the same frequency sensors. Also discovered a security camera in my parking garage at work that will trigger the sensors.

Forget the Ferds they were a passing fancy that lasted 3 years. I was at Le Mans to watch the massive 1000hp flat 12 917s. Nothing touched them, nothing, not Ferds not Ferrari, no one. Only vehicle where the driver's feet were in front of the front wheels. Insane

Fascinating. Mine randomly go off, and I've read tons of other people with the issue, but this is the first time I've heard someone mention Fords. Now I have to look for it too!

The "proximity sensors" are nutso, I see no apparent reason for them sounding.....

i can confirm this. was in bumper to bumper traffic behind a new ford model this weekend and we had to keep on putting the macan in park to stop the alerts. we had no idea why it was going crazy...and i now recall it was a ford in front of us the entire time.

Why not just tap the button on the overhead console to temporarily turn off the proximity alert?

LOL! The person behind them must've been like, why does this person keep shifting through reverse?!
