2018 leftover vs. 2019 - few questions
Hi - 718 CS owner now looking for a Macan as a new daily for commuting and typical light SUV use (hauling bikes, kayaks, etc), My dealer has a bunch of leftover 2018 and a few 2019 base and a few 2019 S on the lot. A couple of questions:
What percentage discount are folks seeing on leftover 2018 base?
Same question for 2019 base and 2019 S.
Aside from the infotainment and the exterior changes, any substantive changes bewteen the years that I should be aware of?
Thanks.

The 19's are the "facelifted" ones
2018, wow, should be a huge discount...you are "buying" a 2 year old car..that has been standing around OUTSTDE?
The only way this makes sense, to me, is HUGE DISCOUNT and you intend to keep the car for a long time

There is a long thread on this topic on macanforum. I believe 2018’s we’re seeing 10-14%. 2019’s about 3-5%. All dealer dependent. Check out the thread for more detail. I bought a 2018 in July at a discount I was happy with and no compromises on the options I wanted.

You have to buy it at enough of a discount, that you would be happy with the trade next week.
15% per year, in my books.
I always get a giggle at new old inventory. There was a dealer here with six brand new lexus's, that were three years old?
My friend bought a marina. They had a dozen brand new 3-4 year old boats. Get a grip, take the loss and move on. Selling at a loss is better that paying interest on an unsold unit?
Bid them, like you don't want it.

We did 11% on a 2018 last April on a Sport Edition. It's loaded with great options and we really like the car.

I disliked the old infotainment system in the Macan so much (I had it essentially in my 2015 Panamera, so know it well) that I would not have bought a pre-2019 Macan; the 2019 computer system is orders-of-magnitude better (I use navigation maps a lot, so it's a big deal to me).
The beautiful, large, high-resolution infotainment screen has gone from "rather ancient" and even "Toyota-like" (my words) to "among the best in the auto industry" (several online reviewers plus me).
The headlights are now standard LED (and I think they look much better than the pre-2019 headlights), and they moved the front-face turn-signal lights further down away from the headlights for 2019.
Inside, the air vents got moved down to make room for the much-bigger computer screen, but I find the air vents plenty fine for blowing cold air and quickly cooling the car down.
There are a couple extra standard USB ports in the back-seat area of the 2019 that may not be present in previous model years, but I'm not sure about that. There are new options in the 2019 model not available in previous model years, including new color options and the new heated windshield that I ordered (which has silver coatings embedded, not wires, to more quickly rid the windshield of frost, snow, ice, and condensation without blowing air).
The suspension and brakes were improved for the 2019 models, as per these reviews:

The new 2019 Macan engines have gasoline-particulate filters now that are needed for the new EU emissions regulations; see
https://autoweek.com/article/car-rev...-gets-facelift ).
While some people call the 2019 Macan a "face-lift" of the 2018 version, all of the above suggest that this is more than just a "face-lift"; it's a big-enough deal that I decided to buy a 2019 Macan but would not have bought a pre-2019 Macan, as I said above. I also hope that Porsche has finally fixed the transfer-case-failure problem that was so prevalent in 2015-2017 models (I've not heard of many 2018 Macans that have had transfer-case failures).

In regards to the PFs, the US doesn't have them even so the carb state most likely wants it.
