I have a loaner Macan given to me while my 911 is being serviced. While driving the 80 mi home, the car was making a strange "wonk wonk" sound periodically, coming from under the dash on the driver's left. Do not know for the life of me what is causing this. At first I thought it was a solenoid valve having something to do with the air conditioning system, but since then I have been driving with the AC off and I am still hearing it.

Any idea what this is?

Could be the LDW feature

Yeah, "wonk-wonk" is a good approximation of the LDW sound. The salesman told us it was chosen to be different so that it would be noticed.

We think it sounds like a sick frog. Button is on the center console to turn it off. Thankfully it stays off between startups.
