Thoughts on Cobb or GIAC?

In reality, the likelihood of a battery flaking out during the install process is probably very rare, but IF it did happen, the result would be significant (in a bad way...bricked ECU).
So simply hooking it up to a charger seems like easy insurance to me.

Totally a CYA, tuned many vehicles and used a battery charger the first couple times now I don't bother. I turn off auto headlights, climate control and audio though.

My gts been in garage for for more than two months stagnant. Just figured out how to add battery voltage display and it reads 11.8 v. Doing my dad's old battery charger. Probably install Cobb Latwr this week.

Hmmm. I'd get that battery fully charged before fiddling with the CPU with the Cobb A.P. installation. Do your self a favor and follow the directions to keep the charger attached during the installation process.

Well finally last Tuesday on a battery charger installed the 91 Cobb tune. Pretty easy. Took ~ 15 min time for install. Took it for short runs around the neighborhood and can say more responsiveness and more trq low end. Will be doing a roadtrip during the holidays and see how car runs. I was abit nervous about a jumpy throttle but did not notice it which is a good thing. Anyway so far so good.

We installed the 91 tune on Cobb the day we brought ours home last Saturday! Noticeable improvement but waiting for the tank to run low and get some 93 in there. Then it will be time for a Pro Tune.
