Default cannot make decision....

....so i really need renlists help!

im trying to decide between macan gts, amg glc43 coupe, and bmw x4m to use as a dd and occasional track car (only 2-3 times/yr).

macan is most expensive at $1000/mo lease, amg middle at $850/mo, and bmw best value at $700/mo (with full free maintenance incld pads/rotors!). i like looks of amg best, feel macan would be best at track, but really liked bmw on street test drive.

how did you guys choose macan over the competition? is it just that you like porsches in general? ive had a boxster, gt3, panamera but dont feel any allegiance to porsche brand for this purchase. they are so close to each other that i find it impossible to make decision. thanks for help

I have had all 3 and presently have a GTS. I kept my M4 for a week and the Porsche dealer had a tough time getting it sold. It was an MT so that might have made a difference. Once BMW dropped it’s old warranty I was done and we had a bad dealer as well. GTS is my favorite.

All around for DD would be BMW. Save the dough and get the maintenance. Don't think you will regret it. RJ

Any of the manufacturers void your warranty for track time?
On your pricing of the lease. All the same options? You can't compare $1000 Macan fully loaded to an AMG stripper?
x2 on the prepaid service/maintenance.
Pads/Rotors included? BMW won't like you tracking? If you go that route, get that promise in writing.
I hate it when they renege, after purchase of a plan.
Of course we need photo's, even is you go off brand.

are you talking x4m or m4? the x4 does not comes with stick. regardless, you like macan over m4? that says a lot in favor of porsche.
what did you think about the glc? ive never even seen one on street and mb is dime a dozen in my neighborhood. its a rare bird

If you're leasing go for the gts. If you buy go for the gts too : ). Mike

also, bmw is good re replacement parts on warranty. i wouldnt wave a checkered flag in their faces, but they will replace set pads every yr without question and rotors every other yr

If you can't tell the difference in how the three drive, or if you can't generate a clear preference then get the cheapest one.

Your next to the last statement seems to sum it up:

- AMG for looks. Are you buying a car for looks alone? If so, then this is your choice!

- Macan for the track. If you're going to be driving your car on the track most/all of the time, then this is your choice!

- BMW on the street. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the street is where we do, most if not all of, our real-world driving. This sounds like your choice!

It sounds to me as though it comes down to looks vs. where you're going to be driving the car.

What are YOUR priorities? The forum members aren't going to be driving this car - YOU are...

Thanks for help so far everyone but its hard to tell how they drive on a 10 min test around suburbs. And luckily all 3 dealers are next to each other so I can literally hop out of one and in to the other. will never know how they do on track until i buy it and too late by then. I wish there was a media comparo of the 3 but cant find one. And most reviews focus on how much they dislike concept of suv coupes anyway so they're not very useful.

keep opinions coming I really appreciate the help

I would ask for an extended test drive (e.g. 1/2-day or overnight, etc.) of a used example of each.

2-ish out of three:

If you're near a major city airport (especially LAX, FLL, PBA, Vegas, etc) Hertz rents many of these cars - maybe not in the trim level with specific options, but it might be worth your while to rent one for a weekend and see how you like it.

I was all set to put some money down on a daily driver Macan GTS until I learned (right here in the Macan forum) that Porsche Connect Plus doesn't support Android Auto. That's pretty much a deal breaker for me especially at this price point.

To the OP, is there any reason you haven't considered the Audi SQ5 in your search?
