Question Launch Model Year

I was under the understanding that the launch model year would be MY2024, which is also what was listed on my purchase order form from February, but looking on the Porsche USA site, it has pending EV ranges with MY2025 listed.

Thoughts?

Usually complete production date is the MY. So there will be MY2024 and MY2025. Porsche website has not always been consistent with their info. What’s your concern?

no specific “concern” other than curious if this might hint at further delays in actual customer deliveries.

My experience has been that the changeover typically occurs over the summer holiday in late August, but the changeover can shift a little with new model introductions. Usually, a Jul'24 car is a MY24 and a Sep'24 car is a MY25, at least for the 911's.

With deliveries starting Sept seemingly everywhere I don’t see why we’d get a MY24 tbh.

Thanks, I was trying to remember the month. I think the Sept date is spot on.

For the OP, there are Macan EV’s due at dealers for demos and some customers with confirmed orders as 2024, I.E. delivery June-August. Porsche is never very transparent on how many will hit in each window. Spend some time in the 911 forum, and see the pain and suffering on getting allocations and long waits. Some are short (My 911 Cab 3 month wait for allocation), some are long (Our Targa 2 years).

For the Macan EV’s I think this will be better as it’s a higher volume product, but in terms of us early order seekers, temper your expectation. Most of us will be in the 2025 bucket and maybe well into next year for delivery.

Seems plausible. My Porsche dealer in London told me the same, as he is still waiting for his allocations, he said. I wonder if anyone has an update on better delivery times in the UK.

I was lucky and got one of the 3 allocations my dealership in the Northeast US received in February (waitlist at at the end of 2023 was already close to 20). Interesting dynamic is that my build dates are mid-May (which would lead me to think its a MY24), but they're holding all deliveries until mid-September when its officially "available" to the public. So, seems like there might be a mix of MY24 and MY25 vehicles that will get delivered at the same time.
