Just to clarify, this thing does not belong to my father or I, but a close friend. Also, the owner has done just as much or more work on this as us - it's definatly a joint effort.

Thank you for all the kind words, I promise when I get home I will continue to upload pics - yall are going to go nuts when you see the finished product!

VERY cool post. Thank you. A lot of heavy metal there. Cant wait to see it moving!

Also, looking at that cockpit, I cannot imagine what it would have been like to be a driver in one of those at, say, Ardennes. Man!

I'm curious about this tanks story. What happened to it between 1940-1960 and 1970 to now. Did the company just leave it sitting in their warehouse, etc before auctioning it off?

Down by the old armory next to where I'm taking my EMT classes, they have an old Sherman rusting on the side of the road. It's cool seeing these things restored instead of just being abandoned for the scrap heap.

Thats wild. Great pics. I drove an M1A2 once. Ex bro in law was a tank commander at Ft. Knox and he took me out on a Saturday and taught me how to drive it, load rounds, run the turret, use the night vision, infrared, and everything.

The loading of the shells was the scariest. The trap door can take your hand off and so can the turret thingy where you shove the shell into. I'll have to find the pics somewhere.

Damn, he can bang my sister if he'd let me drive one of those!
