That's very impressive work!

When I saw all the interior walls painte white the first time, I wondered when you'll show the installation of the kitchen... then I remembered it was a tank.

Is this just for collection, or is your friend planning to start a new demolition business? Maybe they'd have some work for him in EAST Oakland nowadays - where crime and drugs are just a normal part of daily life...

Was the drilling of the drivers front plate part of the de-militarization process back in the day? (first few photos)

Awesome job, is that a clutch brake on the drive shaft. You can make a lot of money manufacturing replica street rod kit cars, with that metal working skill you have.

That's Incredible. Very cool!

Hope we don't see this headline:

Porsche Driver Trades Ballot for Tank

14 December 2008
AP REUTERS

Daniel Fisher of Fredericksburg, Texas, also known as 'sharky47', had lost faith in the electoral process that had given the presidency to Hillary Clinton. During a victory parade through Texas, an obvious F-you to outgoing George Bush, Mr. Fisher sat inconspicuously in a restored Sherman Tank waiting for her car to pass. In the same state where President Kennedy was gunned down from an unseen grassy knoll, people obviously mistook the tank as a landmark and not an operational and manned weapon. A search of his residence found that sharky47 had a custom .50 caliber machine gun outfitted to his Porsche 944. Fellow 'Rennlisters' said, "His avatar should have tipped us off." He has subsequently been banned by John D., albeit only for the weekend.

Good work Dan. I can't imagine the nightmare of trying to get something like that rolling again. We think a 944 is a lot of work. And thanks again for the machining help last week, it was truly appreciated.

Actually we converted it from a petrol engine (aircraft radial, was missing) to a detroit deisel. It was turbo supercharged, but we removed the turbo due to a plumbing NIGHTMARE - it had more than enough power in it's supercharged state anyways.

This tank is finished, I still have hundreds of pics left to upload. He is now looking for another one - that's what he does. He is retired and goes crazy if he does not have a project he is passionate about. He has already restored and sold one Sherman, he just finished this Sherman, he is also working on a M-60 and a M-114. He also has a M-161 (uncut), a ******, and a Quad-.50 turret......all perfectly restored.
