Since you're talking about great food . . . I recently "discovered" Stripling's General Store in Cordele, Georgia. Talk about the best sausage in the WORLD! Their logo is, "You Never Sausage a Place." Then there was this place in (speaking of) East Texas . . . Robertson's Hams in Will's Point, in fact . . . they have the BEST beef jerkey in the world, and the bacon still makes me drool just thinking about how great it made the house smell, let alone how delicsious it was! The neat places you find when on your way traveling somewhere, eh?
I'll try to add a couple of days on to one of my layovers next time I have a chance . . . I still put on track events out in California so the opportunity is bound to crop up to stay a couple days in Texas. And of course, sooner or later I won't be able to fight the urge to go to TWS, etc.. Ya better have some of that brisket waiting for me.

For sausage, I favor Luling City Market, but a big +1 on Doziers too.
oh, and for the record I have no French blood in me at all.
Sisco on the other hand...

No, but I thought that was well established......
First article I found on it-
http://www.newsobserver.com/917/story/1122205.html
They got around the NFA laws by assuming the role of a dealer buying class III guns for a local LE department using a demo letter provided (voluntarily) by the local department (they were purchasing auto's manufactured post ban, which aren't legal for non LE, Military to own). In exchange for providing BW with a demo letter the local LE got to use the facilities and weapons anytime they needed. The ATF is considering that a "straw" purchase. Realy just a case of a stupid beauacratic agency (ATF) with nothing better to do trying to substantiate their existence.
^
If that incoherent explanation didn't make sense to anyone I wouldn't be suprised, just read the article, it makes far more sense.....

BATFE = self-justifying bureaucratic fascists, generally.
BW is licensed as a class 3 dealer & manufacturer. What they did is fully legal in light of this IMO....but that often never gets on the way of the BATFE.
